Status: offline 		I have a belt cp and was wondering if it worth it to upgrade it ?I would like to do it piece meal but not shure where to start . Should I start from the swashplate and work my way up ? or is this not advisable any help would be great on this matter. I am doing pretty well with moving this bird around in the direction I want it to go but not to fast . A little at a time.

Status: offline 		do you already have a HH gyro on it? If not that'd be the best thing to start with (turns out I cannot fly my Belt CP's without a HH gyro, not sure why but mine would just crash without one ), then before upgrading the heli, invest in a nice 2.4ghz Tx, you'll just end up buying one sooner or later except it will make the Belt CP handle alot better, and is an investment into the hobby, instead of just into the heli. After that some CNC upgrades would be nice, but I'd be stocking up on repair parts and extra LiPos first, IMO though.

Status: offline 		depends on what you're planning. I just cancelled all the upgrades for Belt-CP because I'm gonna jump right to nitro. The RTF setup for Gsmart is about 500 dollars and so far that's how much I spent on Belt-CP I guess. So, for my suggestion, do upgrade if u plan to stick with the Belt-CP and if you don't, don't bother.

Status: offline 		I do not have a heading hold gyro but the stock one holds very well I think. But never had a heading hold so I would not know how much better it would be.

Status: offline 		seriously, I have 2 Belt CP's and just kept crashing both, always on the first battery pack and usually within 5-7 min, never had any probs with my other helis, but man the Belt CP has just been kicking my a@@ , but I put a Telebee gyro on the other day, wow, what a huge difference, too bad its super windy today, wanted to take it to the park But also when I use my DX6i it makes even rate gyro hold very well.

I'm flying with
bent tail boom, (used my hand and eyes to bend it back)
glitching gyro (makes noises and fails onc in a while, meanign I lose full rudder control in air every 40 seconds or so) (controlling throttle helps a bit)
no horizontal fin or tail support (no improvision)
damaged main rotor
damaged tail rotor
damaged main gear (Used my sharp knife to make the teeth sharper)
bent main shaft (Used 2 c clamps to bend it back)
glued ball links x 2
Belt-CP still flies great. I really don't see the point of upgrading because it's such a great heli.. [BTW it is also 27mph outisde and its raining.] The hovering steady for longer than 3 seconds is just impossible with this condition but with no wind or gyro issue, i can hold for a minute or 2 with no problem with damaged parts.

GS600, there is no RTF within my range (I found oen for 650 shipped with crappy electrics)
I'm saying that having G-SMart ready to run will take about 500.
Telebee gyro 50 bux
futaba rx and tx 160 bux
gsmart engine + cylinder + arf 250 bux
high torque cylinder that i found 40 bux for 5
battery setup for the rx about 50 bux
so it's actually somewhere around 600. Since I don't know jack about nitro so I'm pushing it back for next year lol.
If I would upgrade Belt-CP to be great heli, it'll take about 400 dollars. I would go for G-Smart products instead lol

*Added:
Yep.. you knew it.. I crashed my Belt-CP and added another dent to the tail boom. The rod that keeps canopy on is gone, I just improvised FiberGlass rod from training kit.

Status: offline 		A decent headhold gyro will make your flying easier and a Telebee seems to be the gyro of choice.
Other than that,
Upgrade it if you break it, no reason otherwise.
You heli will then improve with you otherwise you just going to have more expensive accidents.

Status: online 		I would learn with the stock gyro. You are not learning to "fly the tail" when jumpoing to an HH and the training gear came off too quickly if you keep crashing. Try maneuvers slowly at first. New pilots crash because they are in such a hurry to master flying. I have seen this in both planes and helos. Take your time guys and the stock Belt flies fine to learn on. Once you have mastered FF. FFF approaches and soft landings, then upgrade. My .02

Status: offline 		flying the tail is fine, but I feel only worth doing with smaller helis, my Belt CP's are barely flyable with the stock rate gyros, well not flyable to me, until I stuck a telebee on one I'd just crash eveytime I tried to fly it.

Status: offline 		I guess thats the best thing for me to do is get a telebee. As a noob, trying to fly the tail when I don't have to, would be the best thing for me. Have it trimmed good but still chasing it all over the place. Maybe I won't crash as much then

Status: offline 		its not worth it. my standard belt cp flys just as good as my fully upgraded carbon and cnc belt cp. this is down to the fact that on my cnc head there is play between the links and the balls. im looking at upgrading the links and balls to trex 450 ones and will report back and let you know what happens

Status: offline 		if there is play in the balls and links you can try to shrink the links by heating them while they are on the balls. Just use a hobby heat gun (or other source of flameless heat) and you'll tighten those links up again.
