I installed my Trex 450se v2 in the Hughes 500E fuse and now everything seems to run hotter. Was I supposed to make changes in electronics or adjust throttle/pitch or esc or pinion or ?????. I am currently running Align 430Xl CC Phx 35a and 3c 2200mah 20-32c.

DO you have the windows installed into it? I tried flying mine with the side windows and motor and esc got pretty warm, took them out and that made a big difference but they will run a little hotter then norm due to the extra weight

I have the front door windows installed but took off the back door windows and top windows but it is still hotter than I consider normal. I'm going to use a temp gauge to get a good reading rather than touching it with my fingers. What's a good pinon to use or will that not matter?

I hear alot of guys running 12 and 13t pinions but I myself am currently using a 12t, if Im inside just hovering around everything will get alot hotter then normal but as soon as I get outside and fly all around everything stays pretty cool. I have even thought about taking the tail rotor off a picco z that I have and hooking it up to use as a little fan pointing at the motor.

Thanks Dirtee Bug for the help. I like that idea of a stand alone fan. I was thinking of something like that myself. I wonder if someone out there knows if there are factory fans made to fit or have ideas of rigging one up?[8

You just want to make sure its something lite cause in that fuse we dont need anymore weight lol. I was even thinking of powering it from a different batt instead of the main lipo

I checked the temp after about 7 minutes of strictly hovering. With just the rear windows removed the ESC got up to 130 degrees and the motor 107 degrees. Is that bad? I'm not sure what normal is.
