I just got an exi 450 and was looking for a thread for it and found none. so maybe i'd start one. Many of you may have already know this but the exi 450 is a clone of the trex 450 se v2. I dropped it off at the LHS for setup. The guy there just so happens to build a trex 450 se v2 and i laid it down beside it to do comparisons. almost identical.

anyways here's my list of equipment that is getting installed

JustGoFly 450F 11T
Waypoint 35a esc
3 HS65MG cyclic servos
1 HS81MG tail servo
Telebee zoom gyro
ThunderPower 2200mah 25C Lipo
325's wooden main
dx6

I am disappointed that you are on your 4th(?) heli and you still have it "dropped off for set-up"!!!!! i thought you were going to start working on it yourself? I have been dying to get my hands on a 450 sized heli to do the set-up. I have watched every Finless video for the Trex and it looks like so much fun!

Ah well, to each his own....Hehehe

About this thread being posted in Esky: Seems like everyone here is buying one of those EXI 450's. So it's gotta be appropriate that you put it here....NO?

there is alot of work involve to get that setup properly. there's soldering involved that i suck at, plus the dx6 setup. no time for it. would rather let the guy set it up for a baseline i will later use on similar helis.

Yeah I have an EXI and a Rex SA and the are "identical". The EXI has more metal than the Rex. I bet you got no manual with the EXI, right? You can get online stuff for the Rex which will work (Horizion Hobby). They fly the same. You have to solder wit a Rex too!

yeah those blades are junk! i wasn't going to use them anyways. i flown with plastic blades once and will never again. plastic suck. i'm gonna use woodies for this bird. one of the plus side of the exi is that the body is completely aluminum. strong and sturdy. hopefully the JustGoFly motor will give me the power i'm looking for. If not then i'm gonna get the scorpion motor.

I got a good deal on an Align motor on ebay NIB $27.00 and another good deal on an Align 35amp ESC, which is cool because it has a governor! All together I came in @ around $165.00 for basically a Rex SA.

Mine is set up through motor, speed control and servos. I used E-flite servos (S-75s on ccpm, S-60 on the tail). They fit perfectly and are pretty fast. .12/sec. amd .10 sec., are fairly cheap, the gear sets are at the LHS also. The S-60 works well with a GY-401, which is the last thing I need to add. The 401 is the only gyro I use because it works with most all size helis. I have a Rex 450 SA that is a daily flyer. and flew a friends EXI and except for personal differences in set up the fly identically. If you go to Horizion Hobby I believe the Rex 450 manual may be on line, which is perfect to set up the EXI.

I traded one of my EXI's for a JR Venture 50. The EXI is a SWEET chopper.
