jimmy 1987 -> belt cp minor crash! question (5/21/2008 9:57:32 AM)

Crashed my belt cp today, nothing too bad, blades needed replacing and a few minor things but all is good!
jsut a question i brock the rear wing that goes on the boom right off and need a new one if i need it, can it fly properly without it? like forward flight and what not?
Im not a pro so nothing too out there
Also i only use the standard balance charger to charge my battery, is that alright? im getting a voltage meter soon but i stop flying when the heli looses power dramatically, is this alright not discharging it too much?

Get one of these. 9$ for both shipped. Got here in 11 days. Monitors each cell independently.

that wing is called Horizontal fin [I got to know because i broke it twice now!!!]
it can fly fine without it but i realized that this fin has a little to do with aileon control (Tail in will be a little harder without this sucker but you can easily fix it by giving max rear trim), it's a little stablizer I could say.

I garuntee you that you bent your feathering shaft. Replace them and also buy a tool set two 5.5mm nut drivers (they are for the feathering shaft)

It's okay to discharge it too much BUT you need to have a charger that allows you to charge the battery from 0.01A. [It's called repair function] You can buy this charger [ JB 1100 ]from Hobbycity for 50 bucks but you have to buy an adapter as well or you have to improvise it somehow.
I would recommend you to buy this charger but from me exhausting its fan, the fan died quite quickly (It was charging at least 3 to 4 batteries a day for a month)
So my suggestion is to buy this charger the fan on it dies eventually.
