Seems like there is a product gap after 9c is retired, at least from a price perspective? 10c is about $200+ more than an 9c.

??????

I guess I'm missing the point? I was merely pointing out that the poster had just ordered an obsolete radio...

Or maybe it's that I'm not waiting for a 10C, my new 12X should be here next week....

Hey Zeeb if you wanted to spend $1200 on a 12 channel radio (not exactly the same league as the 10C) you could have chosen between two that Futaba has offered for some time now. Sorry you had to wait for the 12X.

Nah, that option went out the window when I was seduced by the "Dark Side"....

Hey guys, sorry if this has been covered already.... I have been waiting on the 10c for a while now, I placed my order and have been patiently waiting like a good consumer... I was looking around Tower today and noticed that the release date was "Early June" I re-visited the site today after lunch only to find that they have now moved it back to "Mid-June" How many times has this been moved back, and will it ever ship? Should I join the realm of JR?

I have only been flying for a little over a year, I purchased my first radio (Futaba 6EX) in May 07 and it has already failed. (Not due to damage or neglect) I emailed Futaba to see if since it was only 10 days from the warranty if they would repair it for me, along with some other questions, they could only respond with "if your radio is under warranty you can send it in for repair" and they did not answer any of my other questions. Have any of you other Futaba Guys had problems like this? Why does Futaba have only a 1 year warranty compared to JR's 3 years? My product failed 10 days after 1year, I am honestly hesitant to purchase another radio from Futaba. What do you guys think, any similar experiences or am I alone here?
Thanks!

That is what this discussion is about how Futaba keeps moving back
their due dates, However if Andika is correct the 10C should be here
by the end of June.

I dont know how he gets his info we will just have to wait and see.
As for as the 6EX I would send it in they may go ahead cover it
under warranty.

Hey Guys, I only found out about the 10C last week. While its pending mid june release is a dew weeks away... I have two questions about it.

As you can see in the pic, there's still a normal antenna Plus the 2.4 fasst antenna.
1. Does this mean that it can transmit in either mode?
2. Since it seems the fasst antenna is BEHIND the transmitter, does this mean its just a 2.4 add on module?

There are no pics of the rear or side etc.. of the ransmitter to figure out if it is a module.

Yes. It will do either 50/72 depending on the module plus 2.4.

You determine the transmitting band by use of a module. There is no loss of performance due to the module.

Well, once again the date has been moved, now the 10C is announced for mid-June.
I can predict now that near mid June, the launchment date will be moved till late June, then to early july, mid july, late july, etc, etc, etc...
I guess if I could open a bet in Las Vegas, hahahaha!!!

It will be annoying to listen Futaba´s marketing people asking why JR is growing up in to business!!!!

Speaking of shipping dates being pushed back, anyone have their hands on that nifty JR 12X that was announced over 15 month ago??

And oddly, we hear no wailing and gnashing of teeth over the 12X.

Futaba announced the 10C I think earlier this year, so if they don't ship until next March that will be about the same lag that the 12X has.

And if Futaba gets the 10C out say by the end of June, heck even July, they will beat the time it took JR to get the 12X out by a little less than a year.

is it me, or did i miss the title here..........i thought we were discussing the 10C delay, but for some reason we have now focused on an entirely different radio?
we are Futaba loyalists..........could careless about JR.
something is up though, you can always tell when the product is near to our hands when Bill and Krysta are in and out of the forums as they have been the past couple days..............each time one of the newer radios is being readied for our grubby little hands, the same thing happens.
that and i have a little inside info.

Well summerwind is right in that this is supposed to be about the 10C, but since you asked.....

The 12X IMHO represents a difference between the two companies that is significant. The 12X originally slated for November '07, was pushed back due to the insistence of primarily Horizon, that it be available in a 72MHz version. It was originally only designed as a 2.4GHz radio. JR listened to their customers.

That being said, the 12X was then scheduled for a mid-May '08 release but that got pushed back two weeks and the 12X's started showing up in the hobby shops on May 27th. It took a bit longer for me as my 12X just arrived yesterday.

You wanna talk about delays???? Let's talk about the TM-8 modules. If they'd come out anywhere near the original announce date, I'd probably still be flying Futaba but IIRC it was over a year between the original date and the arrival.

On the 10C release date; there is information floating around that the TM-10 module did not receive FCC approval until May 30, 2008 and if true, that could explain a delay in the release. You can't sell a radio transmitting device in the USA without that approval.

Now back to our originally scheduled topic/debate/argument....

Zeeb,

I think you got this backwards.

"The 12X IMHO represents a difference between the two companies that is significant. Horizon was uninterested in it as a 72MHz radio, introduced the 2.4 GHz set ups then relented. True though, they listened and made the two way decision. It was originally (V-1) presented to Horizon before the DX7 came out.
Quite a number of changes later (including software) we have (almost) the current ___for USA____ 12X.

Last I heard was 6/10 for Mode 2 and 6/20 for Mode 1.

NOW return to the 10C

Yes you did miss something, my point. Which was that many radios are long delayed after being announced, not just the 10C. So I don't see what all the angst is about.

A year? I thought they announced that they were going to be coming out with them at the Toledo show last year (April 07), and saw people flying them in January and February. Did our calendars change?

Japan can't use 2.4Ghz for hobby use, so it was never intended as 2.4Ghz only.

One "rumor" I had heard that delayed the 12x was trying to get receivers that could work at higher resolution with the additional channels. The 10 channel JR receivers, while being "1024" resolution for channels 1 through 8, had to use 512 resolution for channels 9 & 10. I heard they were trying to get around this while still being able to add two more channels, especially as Futaba managed to increase to 2048 resolution with 14 channel systems. Switching to having 2.4 available was actually pretty minor, much as it was with the 9303's.

NOW return to the 10C

The first shipment of the native 2.4 mode 2 tx's hit the hobby shops May 27th or 28th depending on location. Mine came 6-6-08 as the hobby shop where mine was backordered had it sitting in their shop for a week before they shipped it to me....

PM me and I'll give you a "heads up" on a hobby shop with an online presence who I will NOT deal with again.

my LHS just got a shipping notice for the 10C's comming in a week or two, so they are comming for sure..

the difference with this fasst 2.4 modual is that it has a digital connector, so no D/A/D convertions like
you would have with a normal PPM input modual.. in other words should be less latency

and the 72 or 50mhz modual is the standard that the 8u and 9c uses...
only a month off on the delivery date? come on, is the world going to end?

Futaba 10C...the wait is over!

Well guys, if you've not ordered your 10C yet you might want to do so right away as they WILL be here next week. We received word this morning that they have left the factory and will shortly be loaded onto an airliner. Without a doubt the first shipment will sell out very quickly. However, another shipment is coming in right behind the first one, in just a matter of days. This is one hot radio, don't miss out!

Looks like the 10c is NOT compatible with the R606FS Rx (in the manual) This is something I was looking forward to as I have 4 of the receivers in planes that don't require 7 or 8 channels and the Futaba website stated they would work with the 10c in 7 channel mode. can anyone shed more light on this or am I SOL with my receivers and the 10c?

Thanks!

Here is the link stating that the R606FS receiver is compatible with the 10c. Which one is correct? The manual or the Website?
