According to the manual, you can use any of the FASST receivers. You just need to set the mode....7-channel mode or Multi-mode.

The R149DP receiver will work nicely if you install a regular-frequency module. In North America, it would be a 50 MHz or 72 MHz module, just like you'd use in an 8U-series or 9C-series transmitter. Any of the PPM receivers will work correctly, too...just use the same module and select PPM as the output type. Page 35 in the manual shows you how to select the type of modulation the transmitter puts out.

Bill, can you point out where it says the 10c will work with all FASST receivers? It lists a compatibility chart for all the receivers and there is nothing indicating that the R606FS is compatible.

Thanks!

it works just like the 12FG/z/14Z in that you go into the menu and select 7channel mode,

http://2.4gigahertz.com/receivers/index.html

look at the bottom of the page.

sounds pretty versatile - 72 meg, 50 meg, 2.4G 7ch or more, etc.

Okay > This is what I am talking about, this is from page 8 on the 10c manual for those of you that have it. Here is the image of the chart in the 10c manual that differs from the chart on the website. My question is which one is correct?

Thanks!

OK i see by that it is not working with the 606. that or since they discontinued the 606 so lonag ago that it may have just been overlooked........the manual may have a few bugs in it as was pointed out earlier where it warns against using the 6014 in 500C (1220F) temps.
i'm sure Bill or Kyrsta will verify this for everyone though.

No, "perpendicular to" means 90 degrees to. In this case it is the face so yes it is upwards.

Without having one in hand to look at it closer, it could be that the handle on the Tx prevents the FASST antenna from being put in a "perpendicular upwards" position.

Doubtful considering all their other FASST modules are capable of a vertical antenna.

No, the TM-10 and TM-7 & 8 cannot have the antenna turned 90dg. to the vertical (antenna vertical w/Tx lying flat). Turning it 90dg. to the right across the back of the Tx works very well, the last thing you want to do on 2.4Ghz is have the antenna pointing straight out the top of the Tx like the 72Mhz buggy whip, as it means you will be flying in the weakest signal area most of the time, I see the Spektrum guys I fly with do it all the time

This may not be the time or place to ask, but what shape will the Tx battery be? Like, is it 2x2x2 and another that's 1x1x8, if that makes any sense?
I currently have an 1100mAh in the 2x2x2 configuration, but would be able to build a 1650 pack (I've just got those cells laying around) in a 1x1x8 shape...I'd just hate to break up two Rx packs AND have to do all that work.

Anyway, any info's appreciated! I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MINE!!!!!

The R606FS receiver was discontinued last winter. That's why it's not in the instructions of this summer's release. However, it will work with the 10C because it uses the same transmission protocol as the R607FS and R617FS.

As far as the transmitter antenna's concerned, you can do like people do with the other transmitters on the FASST system, point the antenna downwards. This results in the model 'seeing' the side of the transmitter antenna, which is where you'll find the strongest signal.

Bax, is the TP-FSM Module (the Sythesized module I have in my 9CAPS) compatible with the 10C?

This is important in order to calculate the investment balance within new and old Rx's, because if I can keep my FM receivers, the investment wont be that high...

Thanks and regards

Ok, the strongest signal is when the antenna is downward like the picture of manual ?
Why TM-14 is a diferent module and can have the antenna turned 90º upward ?

Look where the antenna's pivit point is. I can't be adjusted 90 degrees "upwards" (opposite of the pic), as the trasmitter itself is in the way (it would have to go through the Tx case). The 2.4Ghz FASST module for the 12 & 14 channel radios has the pivot point above the top of the transmitter, so it can be turned upwards.

The direction the antenna is facing isn't that critical, other than ideally you want it perpendicular to the airplane. Personally, for my pylon racing, I like the antenna pointed straight up like the conventional antenna did, as I hold the transmitter down. With the conventional antennas, it wasn't unusual for me to have the tip of the antenna hitting the ground every now and then.

I spoke with two different hobby shops and they both stated that the ship date on the 10c was June 17th. This is, of course, second-hand information so I have no way to verify it other than what I heard. Looks like we could expect the radio to hit the LHS around the 20th. Just thought I would pass this along!

Since when did a traditional antenna point straight up? Unless you fly with the tx held vertically, which is not something I have ever seen done. I think most Tx are held where a traditional antenna is at an inclination of twentyish Dg. above the horizon, maybe thirty at best. This is a worst case scenario for flying in the "cone of silence" .
With the design of the TM-7,8,10 modules, 90Dg. horizontal is a very good option, highly recommended for "glider guiders" who tend to fly at higher inclinations than most powered sport models, well then there's always the bozo that comes on in low over the pits

Sorry for not making myself clearer. I guess I should've said most of the conventional 72mhz antennas were "straight out"? If the TX was sitting on the vertically on the ground, resting on the bottom of the Tx case, the antenna would be straight "up". The way I hold the TX, the conventional antenna would be pointed down, therefore I like the 2.4Ghz antenna oriented in the same way.

Hi garys,
The only time I have my Tx in that orientation is when I have been in my "thermaling chair" too long, but the safety fencing helps out as a support when the 72Mhz buggy whip gets too heavy , Not for long though, the 2M thermal ship is next on the FASST agenda. Actually the FASST modules all allow for that orientation, they just won't allow for flipping up 90Dg. vertical with the Tx lying flat.
Cheers,
Pete
