Penzoil Air-Cooled @ 32:1 in all of my ZDZ's...all of the time.

I have a 40RV-L that has just finished its first gallon and a half of gas. I've run Pennzoil 2-Stroke oil in it at a 40:1 ratio and it's doing fine. In fact, I'm getting noticably more power from it now and once the second gallon of gas has been run through I'll swap out the 20 X 8 Bambula prop for a 20 X 10 Bambula and lean it out just a tad. As it is, it just "gurgles" a tad at wide open throttle...............slightly rich. As for the gas/oil ratio, I may just keep it at 40:1 for safety's sake. I'll let the spark plug be my guide.

All in all, this is a fine engine that only gets better the more it runs. I'm lovin' mine!

I have been using Mobil 2T Racing synthetic as recommended by RC Showcase and my engine runs fine but I'm getting quite a bit of black slobber on my plane. I seem to recall certain "gurus" also recommending synthetic at 32:1 or 40:1 and stating that the rotary valve ZDZ engines were healthiest with synthetic oils. I have one bottle of Mobile 2T left and from what I hear they have discontinued it. I'm running Penzoil Aircooled @ 40:1 in a Brison 3.2 and also in my blower and trimmer with good results so it sure would be easier having one mix for all my gas engines. I know Mr. Dooley also recommends high quality synthetic oils at 32 and 40:1 so I was wondering if anyone had problems with dino oils.

He recommended Yamalube 2R last time we spoke about oil.
