Hey, I'm getting 2 telebee gyros for both of my helis, Belt-CP and HBK2. I don't physically have them right now but before it comes, could people tell me the good, bad parts of it and also proper set-up or adjustments?

tell you the truth, I have 3, 1 on a HBK II, 1 on a Belt CP and 1 on my ES600, all work great, I don't have the yellow wire plugged in on any of them and have never adjusted them, a REALLY like them, plan on adding them to all my other helis as soon as I can afford to

Here is a picture of how mine is set up. I have the yellow wire plugged in (channel 5)and control gain with radio (DX6i). If you have control over gain with a radio, I recommend it because you have gain control right in your hands. It was recommended to me to set the values up in the gain menu to the same levels. 72 and 72 is a great starting point and then move up if the tail still moves on you. My happy number is 85....Just know that to be in HH mode, the level has to be over 50 or the Gyro will be on rate mode. Also, add 1.5 to every number you set gain over 50 for actual gain. 100 setting on gain is actually 75 gain. According to Finless, no Gyro should be set over 32 "actual gain" although mine is.....If you need help later on when you install them, we are here to help....

I actually don't see too much benefit of the gyro at the moment, because after like 2 hours of mechanical tail adjustment (Before I crashed) I would hold the tail without tiouching the rudder stick at all. The only reason I bought is cause my stock gyro started dying on me after I flew my Belt-CP in rain
Zimatosa and nuttcaze, I have stock rx and tx, and can you guys tell me if it is beneficial to put the yellow wire in? If yes, how do I plug it in? Cant it do head lock without it plugged it or no?

It is actually advised not to use the stock radio because the stock radio does not have the gain set high enough from the factory. With all that said though, I used the stock radio for gain on the Telebee and it worked very good. Maybe I got lucky and the gain was set correctly. Maybe Esky has fixed that problem? Judging on how fast they address the problems with their products, I would say no, they have not!

It can not hurt to try it though right? If it does not work to your liking, pull the plug on the operation(pun intended). Just plug the rudder wire into the Gyro with the white wire on the top and plug the Gyro into channel 4. Next , plug the single yellow wire to channel 5 so the wire is in the same position as all the white wires(the top)and go for it! My Gyro has the gain set at 100% and in the B position. Yours might need different settings but use as a reference point.

I have an Esky HH gyro and I had the orange wire plugged into channel 5. Whether it needed to or not I'm not entirely sure either but the guy who helped set up my heli the first time arround ddn't say anything against it. BTW hes into serious 3D flying.

But, he adjusted the gain by doing this... He would raise and lower the heli from a hover, about 3ft off the ground, real fast. Some very quick bob'n. If the tail wags at you, you increase the (I think) the gain. If you go to far the the tail will break loose and the heli will spin so you decrease the gain. I may have this backwards too as its been a while since I last did this. Either way you get the picture. Hover it, then make 2 - 3 fast bob's then make your gain adjusts. Unplug the heli and plug in again and do the same again until you have the tail holding. I was told that the tail wagging adjusting down was better and you stop when the tail stops wagging at you. Then it should be solid in any mode.

Thats was with the stock Tx.... hope that helped muddy the waters some

I see. Thanks a lot guys. Also I do have an I max gyro, dont have a clue what its orange wire is for but the head lock function dies without the orange wire plugged in and heli just loves to spin crazy when the orange plug is on. I was just hoping that the same never happens with Telebee because it's a good money upgrade that I'm putting on.

So.. with the orange wire plug'd in you adjust the gain UP until the tail wags instead of spinning like a fan. Once you get it to wag at you then adjust down until it just stops. Thats supposed to be the ticket.

welll, that's what the manual said, but even when I put it to maximum gain, it spins very fast as soon as the skids lift off from the ground. I did it very many times and now the gain nob is nearly impossible to use.
I think that could've been a bad gyro? That's how I considered it. So is the yellow wire for Telebee the HH function or no? Nuttcaze says he flies his king2 without the yellow wire plugged in..

I have not had a Telebee but most gyros if set by the transmitter will have a setting below 50% for rate and above 50% for HH. My 401 on my Rex is set @ 35% (rate) and 75% (HH).

probably yours gyro is reverse , move that switch A to B or viceversa in the gyro and test again.

i'm talking about I max gyro by the way. The Telebee are on their way to me. THere's no reverse switch on this little Imax gyro... als i t's cheaper than even esky hh gyro si I don't expect much out of it.

Keeping the yellow wire unplugged makes it so you only set gain with the dial on the Gyro.....Plugging the wire into channel 5, simply lets your radio take control of gain and goes by the radio setting only!!! 0-50% is rate mode, 51-100% is HH mode. I am unsure if the gyro is in rate mode if you are under 50% on manually set gain from the gyro(no wire plugged in).
