I need help to understand what caused this to happen.

I was hovering my belt cp and had to pull the elevator back to avoide hitting the furniture, and the blade striked the boom bending it, stripping the servos, and some other parts that got damadge.

Because I was flying inside my living room, I setup the heli with a lower head speed for safety reasons, just 40% sitck to get hovering.

Is this in any way releted? I though this was more common to hard 3 D manuvers than just normal hovering and cyclic control.

Well if you slammed back on the elevator that is a hard 3D maneuver... If you have the stock transmitter you can't do much to stop that from ever happening again but if you're using a computer radio you can change the end points so that the swashplate doesn't react to that extreme.

I am using a computer radio JR8103 and have the CCPM mixing at 60%. I was also using the stock wood blades, do you think that increasing the head speed, using carbon fiber blades and reducing the end point for the swashplate, will prevent this from happening again?

ya, there is quite a bit of flex in wood blades, reduce the 60% to 50% and get carbon blades (or fiberglass) and you probably won't have that happen again.

I can't say this without sounding offense here but what caused it to happen was flying this thing inside your house. It does not take much to beat a heli up. hey Druss, hows it going up there? Go on you tube and find some full scale heli crash videos to give you and idea the same effect can happen to these.

ya, that's one of the reasons I kind of prefer the paddles under the main rotors. there is no real performance difference but it sure makes boom strikes less likely.

I was under the impression that this small helis where supposed to be flow indoors, thats one of the main reasons I got one, because allows me to put in a lot more flights during the week, because a just don´t have time to go to a field.

Thanks for all to make me understand this issue a bit better, as this is my first heli, and I have being self-teatching myself.

Because the Trex 450 has the paddles under the main blade does it make it less prono for boom strikes than the Belt CP, I don´t want to make this a trex vs belt issue, as I am very happy with my belt.

yes, having the paddles under the blades does make it less likely to have a boom strike. I'm not talking about during a crash because the location of the paddles won't help there, but during hard maneuvers. Align is not the only company to put the paddles on top and esky is not the only company to put them on the bottom. As I said in an earlier post, there is no performance advantage, just makes boom strikes less likely.

with the exception of the HBFP (which doesn't really count for this) but the E-Smart/G-Smart are the only Esky heli with the flybar under the main blades. I like the look much better then when the flybar is above the main blades.

i like it tooo. [8D] its a bell design on all their choppers ie the huey, 202 222 jet ranger. they have a stabiliser bar on top.
its cos the bell control design is reallllllllyyyyyyy sensative compared to hiller (has alot of slop)

Thus companys produce a mix. Ps anyone seen an RC chopper with no flybar and 6 blades on the centre hub.
I saw one on myth busters and it looked fab.

Come on guys, the lower headspeed and the quick pullback on the stick did you in. You didnt have enough centrifugal head speed to keep the blades from flexing. If it were an a T-rex with the flybar over the blades, it would have done the same thing (Do anyone remember the Corona) Those were easy to do a boom strike It had a low headspeed and the blades did sit kinda low.

So Iguess if I go try and hang from the prop of my P-51, and I don't, its the planes fault and not mine for trying to hang a warbird? The man was flying in the house. if he didn't, we would not be having this argument

This is a micro heli, where are you suposed to fly???? They are mainly for indoor flying, and some ligth wind outside. My living room has 65 m2, that I can fly confortable every day when I return from work.
