Status: offline 		Got a Don Harris smoke pump on my 40% EDGE and I can empty about 32oz of smoke fluid in just a minute or so. How do you regulate the amount of smoke fluid that goes into the mufflers? Much of the oil is not being used, just shot thru the mufflers and is creating much residue on the bottom of the plane. Using SmokeDri Fluid. Have heard of placing a wheel collar on the tubing and controlling the amount of fluid by tightening the set screw, which will make the tubing hole smaller, of course. Does this go on before or after the pump? PACO

Status: offline 		I can't answer whether it will work or not, but I can tell you that it's never good to restrict the inlet of a pump. Put it on the discharge if you do it.

Status: offline 		You can make a fluid regulator.

A piece of wood dowel about 1 or 1 1/2 inches long and about 3/4 to 1 inch in diameter. (Piece of broom handle) Drill through from end to end and tap for 1/4-20 nylon wing bolt. Drill through from side to side for your size oil line. Round/smooth end of nylon bolt, so it won't cut into oil line tubing.

Basically, it's the same principle as the wheel collar, except IMO the nylon bolt is "easier" on the oil tubing than a set screw.

You can mount the entire assembly on the fuselage side if you wish.

Install on the smoke oil feed line which is AFTER all other components, and connecting into the muffler.

Status: offline 		Hey Guys, thanks for all the comments, all were helpful. I'll try them out, starting with the end point adjustment since I am set up on a separate switch for my smoke system, not throttle regulated. If that don't do to suit me, I'll build the "wheel collar" restricter system, put it down wind of the pump and see what happens.

Status: offline 		Make sure the outlet tube is secure or you may blow it off and have fluid all over inside.
Seen this before, made a mess of his plane.
