hello, I've just recieved my first edf set up. I'm running a 4s with the 72a esc and the typhoon 700 w motor in my single f 18 from het. I purchased my jet used unfinished without a manual. I'm confused about how to install my gear. It looks like my wires are not long enough on my esc? I'm just wondering if I'm not looking at this correctly? any suggestions? Tim

Tim,

Check out the instructions at www.warbirds-rc.com on the assembly of the model and it should answer your questions. The exact page is:

http://www.warbirds-rc.org/artman/publish/BuildArticles/HET-RC_-_FA18_Hornet_EDF.shtml

Good luck,

Carl

I was looking at this kit... does it accept retracts? It looked like a belly lander from the instructions...

Yup, it's a belly flopper, it's too small for retracts. It's a great flyer though.

How long does the under body of the fuselage last? It seems the covering would tear off after a few landings... Does it have to land in very soft grass or is rough grass/dirt fine?

Shadow,

I have had my FA-18 going on 6 years and it is holding up fine. I land on grass without any problems. If you land on dirt, you may want to add a layer of clear packing tape across the bottom to reinforce the Monokote and prevent scratches.
