I think the futaba has better technology (for 2.4ghz, not the radio functions) but the spektrum has cheaper receivers...

I know you have not listed it, but the Airtronics RDS8000 is a fantastic radio. I just picked one up. It has all the bells and whistles. It has the heli, sail plane and plane modes. Extra mixes and 4 heli flight modes. Right now for Memorial day, Hobby People has it on sale for $190.00 Tx with nicds and charger plus a Rx, no servos. Easy programing, scroll to the right or left then up and down. Scroll over to ele, then down to change what you need to on the elevator, EXPO, D/R, EPA, and so on. Scroll over to ale and do the same. Super simple to program.

My opinion only. No I am not employed by Airtronics or Hobby People.

They all work.

Pick the one you like the feel of or that looks the coolest.

If you want setup help Futaba and Spectrum/JR are the most popular.

I bought the FUTABA 7C 2.4 and put FASST rxs in my helis. No complaints. After some extensive range checking, I quit worrying about the location/orientation of the little whisker antennas (antenni?) and just fly the crap out of 'em.

I don't remember where the frequency board is at the field.
