This crash was not very bad, but I would like to say, this plane is very underpowered. It's hard to keep in the air. All the damage was a split prop. Can anyone give me any advice on what to do? I can't return it.

Without any details from you on what it is running, you can start by upping the voltage ie; more cells in the battery pack.
This, of course will decrease the life of the motor.

I am assuming you are running a brushed motor?

Then you can upgrade to brushless. The possibilities here are endless, how much power can the airframe handle

Optimising the prop will give a small percentage increase.

Can you lighten the plane in any way?

Just a few thoughts for starters.

Thanks mboland. Yeah I am using a Brushed Motor and I can not trim any weight down because when I opened the body, there was nothing I could trim down. I will try going with what you said and upgrade it to a Brushless and a Lipo.

I started flying with a brushed motor in a GWS Tiger Moth which only JUST flew on 7 cells NiMh.
I started by fitting a lipo and got great performance from the brushed motor.
If I was careful not to hammer it at full throttle ALL the time I could get better than 20 flights from a speed 400 motor.
Flying it flat out you will probably get about half a dozen flights from the motor, but they will be good ones
I still have the TM (stripped it last month) and when I went brushless I got another kit for it.
Now that plane performed

Hi Ichirofan8
Are you already familiar with how to fly an R/C plane?

Yes, I am wondering why you would ask that too.

Because due to the propensity of newcomers who buy a plane that is WAY TOO much for a student and come here and ask all kinds of good questions it seems every time someone asks about something they happen to be unfamiliar with someone has to ask "Gee, are you new, because if you are ~Insert model of plane here~ is a really really BAD plane for a beginner." Instead of just answering the questions asked.

In there defense, they really do mean well and are usually right about the observation, but we should as a community try to not always assume that because someone is asking advice about some aspect of the hobby they arent experienced with they are automatically a complete n00b and need counseling in all aspects.

~Steps off soapbox~

Sorry, just an observation of the behavior of late..

Hi Adui
The question asked was " Can anyone give me any advice on what to do?" How would you answer it?

Alas but i really am just a n00b, barely soloed even.

However, not knowing much more than what Ive heard and read about electrics I would have to guess a brushless system and more power, (bigger batteries) is the ticket.

Keep in mind, I fly nitro only so far, (unless you count a micro mosquito indoor heli toy), and I'm fairly new to this.

Its just a guess, but since the GWS planes seem to be an upgradeable line that was meant to be kept inexpensive for a new pilot, but growable, I would bet you will find it a totally different aircraft with a better power system.

Ok, thanks. I will try to get a better battery and a brushless. The only problem is that the battery is made so it can only be plugged in one way, for safety reasons, and I do not have a soldering iron.

Unless you want to only buy and fly it will be necessary to get some tools and/or find a friend that has all the gear and knowledge you need.
This is one of the real big advantages of joining a club (plus the insurance cover).

Maybe your LHS would fit the right connector for you at a reasonable cost.

Does the Wattage system use a standard 3 wire servo connectors?
This could be stumbling block if it doesn't.

We did a Parkzone with non standard running gear and the only way was to replace all the gear, servo's, speedy, motor and Rx.

I am pretty sure it uses the 3 wire servo connection, let me check, yes, it does. I did not join any RC Club, but I will see into joining one.

Low wing models are not the easiest to lear on.
Plus this cheap plane is not the best quality wise.

Upgrading the plane with this Motor combo and get a lipo battery and you will like you plane a lot more, but be prepaired for some repairs.
The stock connectors suck, you need to change them with dean style plugs and get a cheap soldering iron. But if you don't like fixing and fixing, planes don't make for the best hobby.

I guess rc_universe block some store links... so too bad I can't post a link to a product.
