Status: offline 		I've just bought 12 Sanyo AA 2500 mAh. 11 of them had between 0.9 and 1.1 volts, out of the package, without charging them. One of them, 0 (zero) volts.

What does it mean? Does that cell self discharge faster than normal, is it damaged? I'll build a pack.

I know that the cells must have at least some 0.5 volts minimum or so from factory, with no charge at all.

I'll leave the cell in charge process during the night, tomorrow I'll disconnect it from the charger, and will check its voltage after 24 hours.

I'd appreciate any expert advise.

First of all, there have been a lot of reports of all brands of 2500 mAh cells developing high rates of self discharge. The seem to work well until you have around 15 - 20 cycles on them, then a lot of them go downhill from there.

I think your 0 volt cell is toast, and would not trust it even if you are able to get a charge into it.
