I purchased one in the fall. It worked beautifully, but for only about 6 voyages. I sent it back, and they immediately agreed to replace it. Unfortunately, they sent it to the wrong address, so it is in the US and I am in SE Asia! I replaced it with a Chinese clone, the Emden 16, by WSN. So far it has worked great. It is a tiny little sub for a pool, and you want to be careful not to let it sink to the bottom, as it is only designed to depth of 1/2 meter. It is a fun little gizmo, the only toy sub that dives statically. The ballast system doesn't seem to be very proportional, so I tend to hit the dive button, and then immediately press the surface button. You can trim the ballast to where it is slightly positive (surfacing) or negative (diving) but never perfectly neutral. I prefer the slight negative buoyancy, and then the foward momentum keeps it from sinking. I hope that Graupner as fixed whatever problems the sub has, as it is a nice little boat at a fraction of the cost of the real ones. Here is a link to a you tube of the graupner http://youtube.com/watch?v=xT37OCMVmdU I see the version I now have is on ebay for 18 pounds http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110254758695&indexURL= Hope this helps Dale in Singapore
