There's a pretty steep learning curve on the 9z and while there's some things it does that the 9c doesn't, most of us dont use the things the 9c doesn't use.

I'd personally keep the 9c, which is also module based so its upgradeable to 2.4ghz as well.

They are both good radios though.

I have a Futaba 9Z WC1 version. I love the radio but I was running into range issues when I started to fly
planes. I also replaced the battery once because I didn't get very long battery life. I eventually modified the
original battery to accept lipo power and it seams to last forever now.

I have never owned a 9C but I was looking at them when they came out. Give both radios a try and see
which one works best for your applications.

I just bought a 9C back in February and absolutely love it. I guess I'm biased. Many pilots at my field say the 9C is an excellent radio.

Well the 9z is better but not by much and the 9c is easier to use.

I think the 9z might be a good sell for someone that has one already and looking for a backup.

thats a good reply! Futaba is playing games with dropping current series, and replacing them with double the price stuff, If i was starting out again, it would NOT be futaba!
