Apparrently when you set a battery for charging on Accu-Cycle you have to scroll through a list of mah capacities. The PDF manual says, that if you don't find an exact match, choose the closest. Then apparently right before (or during) charging you can adjust the charging current.

My question is, can you set the charging current to exactly match your LiPo battery, so that it is exactly 1C (assuming a LiPo < 2000mah)? ... Or, as in the earlier step described above, can you again only "choose the closest"?

The instructions are unclear on this and I don't have a Accu-Cycle to try this out.

Thanks

the C value is the capacity of your battery. For your 2100 mah battery, 1C would be 2100 milliamperes or 2.1 amperes. Most LiPo manufactures recommend that you not exceed the 1C rate for charging. You can charge LiPo's at a rate less than 1C with no problems, in fact some say it is better (gives a longer life time) to charge at the lower rates. Just set the current on your Accucyle to not exceed 1C.

Thanks for your reply. My question was a little confusing. The Accu-Cycle manual is a little unclear on whether you can set the exact amps that you want or whether you have certain preset levels to choose from. I might in future be using it for other purposes with lower capacity packs.

But for the 3S 2100 packs that I'll use in the near term, there's no issue... just set it to max amps. I too think it's a good idea to charge at just under 1C to ensure that packs stay healthy.

Anyway the manual sounds like it says that you can precisely set the charge current, but something it says before that sounds like the opposite. But I don't see why a digital charger would use only preset levels... wouldn't make any sense. Must be that you can set it to whatever you want "from A-Z".

I love how the Accu-Cycle can charge two at once even of different chemistries. Charge your flight-lipo and a TX bat at the same time.... or two flight-lipos at the same time... very convenient.

The capacity increments are in 50 mah increments and the current is in .05 amp increments. Maybe that helps?

For a 2100 it can be set at exactly 2100 mah , but with a max rate of 2 amps.

The increments are very fine , and the manual does make it appear that you may not get it to exact setting. In fact if you have a 1320 mah pack then you'd have the choice of 1300 or 1350. Very acceptable. The current can be 1.3 or 1.35 amps, again it is close enough.
