Status: offline 		Has anyone flown a high wing Debolt model with ailerons, if so were they effective/beneficial? While on the subject what is the magic formula for amount of surface area for effective ailerons on those old flat bottom wings? Cheers Bill

Status: offline 		A very looooooong time ago I converted my Live wire to strip ailerons. As I recall they were about 1 inch wideper somebody's recommendation. They were effective, but produced huge amounts of adverse yaw (this was way before computer radios). It taught me how to fly coordinated rudder and ailerons. Rolls were big barrels. after a major crash, i rebuilt it and halved the dihedral; that radically reduced the amount of adverse yaw, but there was still some there.
