Ok.....
I ran My MXT2-S and My Monsoon.....
Actually went to the Track for some Testing.....

The MXT2-S Did pretty good on the track. Its Plenty fast and Flies well off the jumps. Has Plenty of suspension to absorb the Landings.
Weak Points? Well, with a 2 Speed Tranny, its not Ideal for the track, although I COULD probably adjust the Tranny to short shift into 2nd real fast.
Its More Basher Oriented anyway. I just ran the Track for Fun .
It has WAY too much steering for the Track also. Lol I kept finding myself doing Donuts in the Turns. (Had to tune the Steering WAY Down with the EPA, to keep myself on the Track.) Also the Tires are for BASHING not racing...

In Short, All the things that make the MXT-2S a Great Basher, (Light weight, 2 Speed Tranny, BIG Beefy Tires, Agile steering and a Tiny Turn Radius, ) all make for liability on the track, IN STOCK FORM...Has potential though..

The Monsoon.....Did fine.....Really needs that 12 tooth clutchbell/pinion though,, and some Real Tires....Lol.
I am just tuning and working out some Kinks before I actually enter any Real races.....

Here are some Dirty Pictures....lol.

5 or 6 break-in tanks through the Mammoth ST, and a couple tanks through the Volcano during cool-down runs. All of it on pavement, in big wide open lots, but I still managed to shred the Volcano body, so it's Viper time! The Mammoth is getting pretty loose and fast, though I think it's still got a bit of breakin' in to do. Still, it runs strong... I'm just about through this gallon of 20/12, I think the next jug will be 25/12 or 25/14, depending on what I can find around here.

Edit - Rich: think about the CEN differential swap instead of the 12 tooth pinion. They're a 27% overdrive compared to stock, and the teeth are much beefier. Strengthening plus speed = teh win!

UD.....

Yeah Ive been Haunting the Monsoon thread lately....
If (when) I blow out my rear diff, I think i'll go that route......
Only Prob I see with that mod is that you really need to run the 10 tooth pinion to bring the Gearing back down to Reality for the Track, (Thats what I've Heard,,,anyways.) I also want to do the Dual Brake Mod.....

Didn't get to run really, The Buggy is missing the clutch bell screw and I had the Mamba out for about 15mins and it was acting up... Problem might be an air leak.. not sure..

Busy weekend, working on the website, trying to get more pictures up and figuring out how to get a few things done on it. We made plans for next weekend to run the cars and the boats!!!

It's what I figure, too. If you do both, you'll be at a 57% overdrive to what you've got now. It'd be damn fast in a straight line, but it would suck coming out of the corners.

The website looks good, BTW, though I struggled to find the parts I was looking for 'cause they are all in there jumbled about. I really like John's setup here: http://www.xtm-dealer.com/XTM%20Mammoth%20Parts%20index.html - it's so easy to find a part because everything is grouped into categories, and if you want you can click on the exploded view and buy your parts THERE too. I don't like the zen cart thingamabob, but what are ya gonna do?

if you go to parts, all the catagories of rc's will come up then you just click on that and the parts for that car will come up or you can just type the name or number in the search. I dont think it can get easier than that. I am not too sure what you mean by jumbled about?

John does have a good site going.
