Summerwind,

Was this on the Bipe or the MonoPlane?

My Bipe has a Carbon Balsa I-Beam joiner wich has proven to be very strong...

Good Luck,

Summerwind,

I certainly agree Balsa only would not cut it in my book on the Monoplane...

Good Luck,

Hi guys.

I have the old monoplane version with the pice of balsa I just cut two pices of ply and wrap the two part of the wing with fiberglass cloth and epoxy and then apply the plywood in each side and clamp them together. Holding strong after rough flying and a few hard landing. I have the Hitec 65 with karbonite on the rud and elev with no problem.

Last sat I almoust lost it but it's ok now, fix it. After flying for a wile with my new TP 2100 I land it to check the charge in the batt. All was well so up it whent after a few passes the motor shutdown I lower the throttle to reset it thinking was the low voltage cut of of my ESC but still no power. It was low alt and it whent down fast nose first. Crack cowl, firewall and prop so I check the electronic and found out that the ESC got overheated and cut the power. I use to fly it with a TP 1320 so I never had a problem with it and the two vent holes that I make in the cowl for cooling not enogh for the 2100 so after fixing the cowl I add another hole, hope this help when I fly it next sat. Just keep and eye on the bigger and more powerfull lipos if you use them.

I'll post some pics as soon as I download them from the cam.

Altavillan just add some up elev when applying power and you whon't have a problem with the downtrust.

Summerwind.

You can up the ESC to 45 if you like but if your motor Max Constant Current is no more than 35A or so it will not make to much diference. You can still use that pack with the 35A if that is the case. Now if your using the recomended Brushless outrunner, 35-36-1200kV you will need at least the 45A.

It will help if you tell us what motor your using on it, some times its good to go with the next size in the ESC anyway.

NEED HELP! just finished the build on the Reactor Bipe and it went together great!. I went with all the recommended parts (rimfire 1200K, 45a esc & 4-S3154's). The problem I'm having is when I connect the battery my aileron's jitter like mad! I tried to loosen the screws to keep it from binding and the only way they stop is if I take out the screws completly. I thought they were just bad so I replaced them and I still have the same problem. I've been flying electric for 4yrs and never experienced anything like this.

Anybody got ideas?!

yeah it seems to be the drawback when using digitals, especially ones as small as these.......just the teenciest bind and they go nuts because they are trying to center their little hearts out.......heh heh they are such cute servos i treat em like kids
i have conversed with the reviewer of this bipe over at ****.......i can't post the link to the review here as it gets sensored, but when he did the review, GP or Hobbico sent hme 4 3154's.....he used the 3154's on rudder and elevator, and 3114's on the ailerons.......i'm doing the same

You are welcome Summer, any time you need help feel free to ask here or Pm.

For the jitter on the servos try to center them with out the arm. Once you guys have everything on 0 in the Tx then place the arm back. Not all the arms will center (90 degree of the servo case ) from the first because in every set of arms there is a R and a L so test all the one that you have. If they dont center thats ok as long as is as close as posible then just trim them until they are, last make sure the control surface are neutral and tight the links to the arm. Make sure that you dont go over when you ajust the travel movement of the servo in both direccions. let me know if this help.

Summer.

Maybe you know this but just in case if the motor is rated at 45A Max Constant Current and 55A Max Surge Current. This dosent mean you will fly it at full throttle all the time and just go up to 45A trust me it will go way more. So for your setup you will get to fly at 45A all the time and 15 secons of burst of 55A from time to time with out danger of damaging something.

Guys,

Speaking of ESC's I'm using a Thunderbird 36 currently with the recommended Motor... And so far so good, I am going to try and pick a Thunderbird 54 since they are relatively inexpensive try that and see if there is any improvement.. (Oh if using the recommended motor and a 35amp ESC don't over prop.)

Good Luck with yours,

I went back up to my shop last night, and finished the new plane. I didn't get home until after 1:30 am! But it's ready! I'm gonna go test fly it today, I'll report back what happens... hopefully it'll be more successful than the last flight...hehe
