g'day all. i have been flying planes for about 6 months now, and my dad ahs bought a heap of rc helicopters cheap.
he has an align t-rex 450 xl minus all the radio gear(servo's, reciever, gyro, battery). could anyone here tell me all the detials
of the parts needed so i can put it together and try to fly it. Is there anywhere i can go to on the web that could give me more of an idea to get it up and running. my tx is a jr x3810.

Rsecky, here is the list I run on my 450. The only thing you will have to search out is a compatible rx to mate with your jr. Cyclic servos Hitec HS65MG, Tail servo Futaba S9257, Motor and ESC the standard Align combo will work well, just ensure your running a minimum 30amp ESC. Batteries I run the Kong Power 2200 mAh, 25C. Good power and flight times. Gyro is a topic of great debate. The standard on a 450 machine would be the GY401, however I run a Telebee HH gyro and it works great for my level of flying. I'm still a rookie with the 450 and have just started fast forward flight. The Telebee is an inexpensive option to get you airborne and holds like a rock for basic flight. Once you go full 3D I'm sure you would want to upgrade to the 401.

I think you are off to a good start with the trex 450, I use the hs 56 with carbonite gears for the cyclic and a hs 80 for the tail, the gyro is just the cheap gws 7 gram job and ive been using it for nearly 3 years with no prob, my receiver now is the spectrum parkflier, however before I converted my x3810 to 2.4g I just used an rs77 pcm as the high frequency from the brushless caused problems for ppm receivers. My trex even with the cheap gws gyro is fine for normal flight and some mild 3d.
