Hello all!

After reading a bit, I now feel like asking a question. If I should have kept my mouth shut, so be it.

I am in the mood of picking up my hobby again after many many years of slumber. I have kept my skills somewhat up to date by flying on the simulator, but havn't been airborne with a real flyer for a while now. I have flown a wide variety of aircrafts. High wing trainers, low wing trainers, bipes and helicopters. I think my skill level is adequate, and I feel like trying a model that is capable of something more advanced than loops and spins. I also want it to be able to do some simple 3D manouvers like harriers and torque rolls, if and when I want to take the dive (from high altitudes) and get my legs shaky. After years of wiping oil and grease off of my models, and being careful to not smear it all over the car, I want to go electric. The ease of use (always starting, for one) is also a big factor.

I have some of the gear allraedy. An advanced radio (Futaba T8UPs), servos, prop balancers and such. I will need the plane and it's motor to get airborne, but as I am not sure how much I want this, I thought I'd do some research on the plane first, maybe get it home and start tinker with it before I take the leap and get the motor, batteries, charger and so forth.

So, with this in mind, I have a small question I was hoping some of you all could help me out with.

I have easy access to some Kyosho models, and was wondering if any of these two would be my best "bet";
1. - the Kyosho Edge 540 EP, or
2. - the Kyosho Extra 300s EP.

Wich one would you choose, and why?

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Been there and done that, I choose a 3-D Hobby 47" Extra SHP and have never had a second thought or looked back... Set it on low rates and fly it like a trainer, only better! LOL You will never meet a better flying airplane, at a reasonable cost for the whole package, customer service is second to none. Flys great slow or fast, and will do any manuver that I can do! LOL P.S. I had a 25 year lay off.....

StressBall,

I have done the same thing as of a couple of years ago and it is nice to be back, things have really change since I drop out back in the mid 90's... :-) The only thing I would suggest is consider sending your TX in for a checkup before putting back into service... (I'm using the same TX.)

Good Luck and welcome back!
