I have 2 pocket bikes that my girls won't ride I wanna turn them into a wanna be redcat. I was just wondering if there is a servo strong enough to turn 10 inch wheels and pull a brake cable. I can weld the frame and such it's the servos I'm worried about. This thing would be huge and heavy. If no servo can handle it what if I ran 2 servos and modified an arm so they worked together. Any thoughts? I'm doing it regardless I just need some of the more experienced guys take on this. I love my 1/8 but these bike have sat in the garage for a year I think it's time they get tore down and turned into a wanna be redcat.
Edit I just went an measured the wheels they are 12" and are air not foam.I payed .01 cent for each and shipping was only 100.00 off of ebay so if I screw up no biggy 100.02 I'll take a chance lol I just need to know if there is a servo that will move the tires and the brakes. Yes I know I need 2 servos.

Swamper, you need to check out Tonegawa servos. May need a bit of fabrication work to make them fit (they are just over quarter scale size), but they are the strongest RC servos in the business, 1000oz-in at 6v (yep, not a typo, ONE THOUSAND oz-in) . They're not stupid money either, but don't expect them to be cheap.

On ebay the guy has a ton of them and they came from vancouver
Edit I tried to find the seller but ebay has deleted the sale it was last year sometime. I did pay 1 cent for each but I stand corrected it cost me 100 shipping per bike. I got both bikes running finally just ripping them apart now.

My project hit a stop my welder is foobar I can't weld now, I might just try and bend the tubing and use bolts , I don't like the idea. I can't afford another 2000.00 welder

You know someone who could weld it for you?? I would if we lived closer to each other..... If you have to, you could take it to a welding shop...anything worth doing, is worth doing right!

I am in the same boat! I have 3 pocketbikes(49cc) and 5 extra new complete engines with transmissions.
I am wanting to build a Redcat Puller with one. I have a welder, just need to find me some time, scrap metal, and a drawing of the plan for the model. I was having problems finding some rear tires, but I think I will use the Super Kong tires.
I have yet found any time. But I am still looking for it.

I was thinking of using mini quad tires or roto tiller tires but I think they would be too heavy

Damn it ROD. i could have picked thows servos up for you and sent them out for you for 10$ so it would be $10.02 insted of 100.02
and i want to do the same thing... you should make a Twin engine buggy and gear them together...how big are the engines? and find a frend that has a welder and borow it for a while. send me pics if you can.

but i want to bild something a littel smaller... a 1/10 scale gocart with a Sh-18 for the engine... that will RIP!!

Sorry cam I didn't see your post the bikes are 49 cc chain driven with a clutch I thought they'd be direct drive, at least I was hoping for direct drive, and yes the avatar is cool. I plan on doing all the bends and having a shop weld the aluminum.
Edit and it will more than likely be a solid axle front and rear and chain driven with the motor in the center of the truck, I'll probably use some small quad shocks and quad tires it will be more like a 1/5 to 1/4 scale when I'm done. Gonna take along time to get everything but I'm game.I added a pic of what I want to do the extra tubing is cause I think the 49 cc engine will be heavy let me know what you all think. It's going to have an aluminum body pan probably 1/4 inch. And I'm going to make it a rock crawler/basher, cause there is no way I can make a body for this thing. I'm guessing the dimensions but I'd say 3' by 2' somewhere in that area, I'll know more when I look at the chains and motor. I don't know if the pics expand for you all but where you see the outside lines thats where the bends will be.I uploaded them twice and they won't expand for me.
