I have a T-Rex 450 SE V2, and I am looking to upgrade my gyro. I have heard a lot of good things about both of these gyros, but I am hearing the 770 might have problems with tail wag. Is that true? And also, which is the better gyro of the 2, and which one should I get?
p.s. I want a gyro that will handle 3D.

Thanks
Joe

I can't speak on the JR, but the 401 is a pretty good one for doing what you want to do on a 450, 500 or 600. I fly JR equipment, but I have been using 401, since I started flying helis. All the guys at my field fly the 401 or higher end Futaba gyro. I have the 401 on my 450 and 500. A guy at the field has it on his 600.

the 770 is the best 3D Gyro around, i have one on my 450 and 600N, i have also flown them on a t-rex 500, logo 6003D, MA Stratus, and Synergy N9. and it holds the tail perfect. the next best thing is the 611, but for that your in another $100.00

the 770 needs more setup than the 401 but in the long run it is a better Gyro for 3D. the 401 is kinda slap on adjust gain and go, but i have had them blow out in hard manuvers, full throttle punchouts, and fast backwards flight. Also it dosnt correct for wind when piro'ing so learnig something like Kaos can be very difficult because the tail changes speed depending on where the wind is hitting it from. the 770 hasnt missed a beat yet, through tic-tocs, kaos, tail slides, and fast sideway flight it has never let the tail go. the 770 also holds a constant piro rate, so your tail is more predictable and stable. if your looking for 3D performance, there is no question that the 770 is the way to go.
