Heres a thread dedicated to your favorite battlebot. You'll need to name the bot, tell us why you like it, weapons it has, and what class it is in... Ill go first...

My three fav's of all time are "Biohazard", "Son Of Whyachi" and "Ziggo". Here are some pics of them and their features...

Biohazard- Titanium outer shell, excellent drivers of the bot.

Son Of Whyachi- Great drivers, awsome spinning arms, weighs a ton.

Ziggo- 3k rpm shell, unique design, cant beat it.

Is the show still on? I haven't seen it in a while, but I always thought it was a cool show.

Depends on the kind of arm.

The powerful arms are usually Scuba or CO2 tanks and pistons. They have massive power and speed but they aren't proportional. The bots that throw other bots across the ring and flip them three times use this kind of arm.

Slower arms are usually linear actuators. They are more like a servo and can be proportional. They aren't as fast or powerful as pneumatics but they are cheap and easy.

Really slow arms like pincers are usually linear actuators or even hydraulic in the heavy weights. Slow but extremely powerful. Sadly they are so slow they never seem to get a good bite on anything.

A few hammer bots use a motor and sprocket system or a winch/spring system.

HAHA I still build battlebots!!! There are lots of events still open throughout the country. www.buildersdb.com has all the future events that you can sign up for.

http://www.teamrollingthunder.com/ is my teams site. I know its outdated but our team is still active.

Our 12lb is ranked #1 in the world and has won 3 straight events in a row.

oh ya and www.botrank.com gives all the bot rankings.

Edit: We sell battlebot kits if anyone is interested.
