hello, first post in the heli forum here. I have a blade cx2 I got recently and am trying to have fun with it. Been through a couple sets of blades and cracked a body so had to buy a new one.

Got my new body and replaced the blades again, throttled up and it shakes violently. Even before the top set of blades start to rotate. Something is bent but I am not sure what it is. Would that "main shaft" that the blades are attached to cause that if it were bent? Is this common to bend that in a bad crash. How do I tell what part is actually causing the out of balance rotation?
Also the stabilizer flybar looks a little tweeked. I am assuming I probably need another one of those also?

Is there stronger parts I should get as I break the stock ones?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Bent shafts are kind of common in a crash. The flybar is almost always bent in a crash. You don't have to buy a new one depending on how bad it is. Just bend it back to normal.

For the shafts throttle up a little and go full rudder in one direction. You will see blades that are spinning faster. If it wobbles it is probably the shaft that is connected to those blades. It could also be the other shaft causing the other blades to wobble too.

There aren't stronger aftermarket shafts. People have made some out of titanium and carbon fiber. They have also added some carbon fiber tubes or something like that to the flybar. Soloboss was the one that started that, so you could ask him about it.

Welcome to the Blade forum.

Nick

MSM78,
Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of RC helicopters. For whatever reason you have chosen the most difficult RC toy ever created to be your hobby, your passion and your ticket to the asylum. But that's OK. When you get to the asylum, you'll be in good company. And we all fly helicopters in the recreation hall!

A hundred years or so ago, I wrote a paper for new fliers with coaxial helicopters. It starts with how the danged things work and goes through setup a step at a time to get it into the air as a happy little bird. I'm not going to call it the greatest thing since LiPO batteries, but it does show how I set my coaxial up to work really well. And there are some tips for getting a little more out of the CX / CX2.

When you want to get the maximum performance out of the CX2 just ask the forum. That's why we are here.

What did I forget?? hmmm. Oh yeah, the link to the information! DUH!! Heli Setup
And there is a list of really good information also available. It's a little embarrassing but I can't recall the listing. Or even who posted it. But it is an EXCELLENT list and I need to bookmark it for next time.
And I need my first cup of coffee.
Anyhow, that list of information will lead you to a bunch of sites and each has good information. Almost everyone on this site has had a CX or CX2 and we pretty well have it figured out.
And someone will post the list of sites before the day is through.

Big Happy, Dude!
