I had a buddy who took off, flew and landed and never so much as flew anything, not even A GP sim. Given it was a hig wing nitro trainer but pretty impressive. Had another buddy who wanted to fly with us and bought a PZ Spit. Crashed the heck outta it. RC is a funny sport some people have it right off other dont. Good luck on your flight, just take it easy, Sims are great but really arent as close to the real thing as some people like to make it sound IMHO. They dont really simulate a gust of wind on landing ow when flying low or other variables. Good Luck!!!! Cant wait to see your video. I am getting out of Glow, to much work, and going electric, think this will be my first plane, I am selling all my glow stuff. Have flow some elctrics before, lots of fun. I will most likely be using the money from all my glow stugg for a Spektrum 7 channel and i will just sell the transmitter that comes with the corsair. That way I will have an extra Rx when it comes time to get something else. Do they make a PNP for the T-28?

I tried epoxying a piece of very good foam material and the freaking screw at the Upper Right Hand side of the Firewall cut into the Foam piece like butter!!

I removed the propeller, cowling, screw and cut to at least half it's length was RIGHT ON THE MONEY!!! ($$$) I took off any sharp edges and burrs by sliding the new screw end with some sandpaper and re-installed the screw and torque down without any problem.

I did exactly what several have done here and now I have a shorter Upper Right hand Screw securing the Firewall assembly / Motor assembly and PLUS the protection of that Foam Piece I glued earlier!

The problem screw is the LOWER right motor mount screw.

But we know what you meant.

So i recently purchased the pz corsair. I maidened it today and it flew like a champ. (i am only 15 but this is not my first warbird). I have experience with a zero, t34, S.E.5, spitfire, and a-10. So when I did fly today i used the 2 blade hoping for more thrust, and the 3 blade seemed off balance. I was wondering if anybody has had any luck with getting a larger prop on. My other eflite 480 i have a 12x4 on so it really seems off. However, I do have other APC props its just the prop adapter is sorta weird. Any thoughts... Thanks

If you like the look of a 3-blade propeller then, try out the new GWS 3-Blade, 10 X 6 X 3 propeller as someone has posted at the "Other" RC Web Site with good results and did not draw above 19 AMPs.

For good Up Lines, many including my contact at an Orlando, Florida Hobby Shop known as GRAVES RC has used the APC "E" 10 X 7 with very good results.

For speed, I personally used APC "Sport" 9 X 8 propeller and it makes it go!

Can I get six volunteers please to send me their out of balance 3-blade Corsair props? Send me a PM and I'll give you instructions for where to send it.

This is bugging me because we never saw one that was out of balance during development testing.

Thanks,

I would like to send my 3 blade but will be out of town tomorrow, I will contact you when I get back. But since you are from Horizon Hobbies, may I ask why there is a reason that I can't fit any other props on my corsair. I flew it with the 2 blade and it seemed it didn't have enough vertical power, especially with it having a 480 which should provide sufficient power. I would like to suggest that you guys include a larger prop on your parts list for the corsair. I appreciate the help.

Ive used the APC 9x7 sport prop on my T28 with the power 10 motor.....it just squirts along if you nail the throttle. like water out a water pistol
its a good prop, i'll probably like it on the corsair as well. it makes a great sound as well.

Actually I downloaded a SuperCub sim into FMS and the newer edition of the program does allow you to set wind speeds and gusts. Is it like the real thing? I actually don't know because I have not flown my real cub yet, but it is much more realistic than the older version where the planes maneuvered with perfect precision all the time.

I picked up my F4u PnP version last night and prepped it for flight today. I flew my tried and true T28 first to check out the conditions of both the environment outside and intestinal fortitude inside. Once I put the F4u to flight I realized that this is one sweet flying model. No surprises other that it being so predictable. Flew two 8 minute maiden sorties and with no wind it comes in hot on landing. Wow! I'm very pleased but now I've got to invest in some extra battery packs.
Is there a CG spec available on this B1-RD?

The wind does add a bit of reality to the Flight Sim. I almost always fly with a little wind turned on (usually 3-5 mph).
It's rare to have a completely windless condition in reality, so I'd advise turning on a little at least.

The CG is specified in the manual - I'd look it up for you but I don't feel like walking out to the garage. I haven't experienced hot landings with the Corsair or the T-28. Both slow down nicely and I haven't added flaps as some have done.

I can't believe that I didn't find the CG specs after checking the manual on three prior searches during pre-flight. I was almost on-spot with my 'quesstimations' though.
Wet weather is keeping them in the hanger today which really sucks eggs.

All I am trying to say, sim experience is in no way close to actual esperience, its jsut not the same. It may help you with flight controls and the like, but in all reality its jsut not the same. Flying in real life is 20x more nerve racking, because when you crash in real life thats all she wrote. There is no reset button like on a sim. You either lose your plane or need repairs, if your lucky nothing wrong. However people tend to over correct more in real life in fear of losing thier plane.Flight sims are getting more and more real, but when it really comes down to it its just not the same. Even the most advanced video games(which is all the sims reallu are) cannot replicate real to life 100% of the time. All I ment was some people can have first time success and nver crash, good for them, unfortuneately that is far and in between. Just make sure you are up for the challenge, the more experience you have the better off you are.

Where I found sims helpful is acrobatics such as inverted flying. Gets the "up and down" responses built in. However, it still is much more nerve racking in real life.

Compared to sims in real life depth perception is much easier for lining up landing, etc.

CastorTroy, sorry you seem a bit upset about my post. I wasn't trying to be nasty or anything. I was just mentioning that the sim did have some wind settings available to try to emulate real life more closely. I agree that reality and virtual reality are far different as you stated. Sims are good practice, but they are not the same as real experience in the air. I'm just hoping it will help me a bit.

cjg, are you saying that landings are easier to line up in real life? I'm hoping so because in the sim it is really difficult for me to properly line the plane up. I think humans have much greater vision depth and width than the computer screen provides.

Glad to hear all the stories and experience with the Corsair. Keep posting especially with comparison to the T-28. Has anybody gotten it to knife edge? Any other acrobatics that it can't do well? Is it a big deal? I would probably want the most capable plane as my second one, but I just love the looks of the F4U compared to the T-28. I have always loved the look of this plane since I was a kid. I rarely ever go with looks over performance no matter what the purchase, but this might be one of those times.

NO No NO! I am not upset Im sorry I didnt mean to come off that way. I jsut didnt want anyone to think I was bashinig sims as they are GREAT tools. Sorry about that, But it is MUCH easier to land in real life, There is jsut something about it I donno. But I Got my Corsair last night. Also picked up a Spektrum DX6 since I didnt want the stock transmitter. The stock transmitter is for sale if anyone would like it contact me. But anyway I am impressed at this thing. Started on the cutom scale parts kit I got from a fella on this thread. Without a doubt, EXCELLENT quality on this scale parts kit, if you guys like this kind of thing I would suggest getting it. Only 22.oo usd and its really worth it! Hope to fly today, have my Tx charging and everything bound radio wise. Im a little nervous, first flight jitters. Weather is supposed ot be perfcet today. Jsut out of curiosity,, are there any flyers in Mansfield Ohio area that fly electrics, I know of Bender field that was where I flew my nitro models but I am looking for something closer. Anyone want to give me any more vita ltips before flying? I have more then enough fliught experience but this is my first parkflyer, never really messed with one, my buddy had a PZ spit and I flew that once. Anyhoo sorry about that post I wasnt mad jsut didnt want people to think Im a negitive nancy.

David,

Its nice to know that a manufacturer keeps tabs on its customers' opinions and responds to their needs. I've been flying R/C for 3 1/2 years and have had a lot of planes during that time, but the best ones have been the Horizon Hobby planes: HobbyZone, ParkZone and E-flite.

Has anyone, to your knowledge, used the Corsair landing gear on the earilier PZ Warbirds? I wonder how the Mustang, FW and/or Spitfire would fly if they were modified with the Corsair landing gear and electronics? Could be the makings of a very impressive squadron.

just got back from flying mine today, second time i had it out. i used the three bladed prop this time (t28 prop for it's maiden). this plane seems very well powered! i tend to fly my t28 wot most of the time, but noticed with the corsair i was mostly using between 1/2 and 2/3 throttle. great plane, couldn't be happier with it and my t28. r.

all this corsair talk has me really excited... i can't get mine yet cause i'm away on military business but i'll be home next week and ready to get into it... this talk of the Power 10 Motor has me interested too but i don't know much about matching specs... do i need to upgrade my battery from the stock or will it be sufficient for the new motor... i have a t28 that you can see crashed up pretty nice earlier in the thread but i figured out my issues with it and we are great friends... i would love to zip around a little faster though if i can...

Quick question before I maiden, looking from the top of the plane with it on the ground, the prop seems to have more distance on the right side. Left if you are standing behing the plane... Is this to counter motor torque? Or not....
