Status: offline 		I searched and did not find what I was looking for...
What will cause the tracking to go off. I had the tracking right on...I took my heli out and started flying. It was flying great...very smooth. I went into idle up and still everything was good. I did a back flip, I heard the blades go out of track but it came right back and was smooth again. So I continued to fly more and then did a front flip. The blades went out of track again, bad this time. They did not recover again.
I have gone over the entire head, everything is tight. I checked the blade balance and it is very good. I checked the flybar and it is straight. I have checked the balance of the flybar and paddles and it is fine. The main shaft is straight. the spindle shaft was just replaced and is straight. I pulled the dampeners and they look good. There is no movment in the blade grips in regards to the dampeners. Could the dampeners cause this?
I am flying the Black Hawk 450 with the HDX 450-HSS all metal head and it has about 15 flights on it. Blades are Heli Directs Carbon Fiber 325mm CF-450MB

Any ideas?

Bent mainshaft
Bent feathering shaft (could happen in a hard landing)
Bent control link
Blades are not equally tightened in blade grips which will cause a blade to flap more than the other
Bent flybar
Flybar paddles not flat
Linkages worn
Worn ball links

Status: offline 		I went through the list...I had gone over all of this before. I even installed a new main shaft even though the older one appeared fine. Double checked the feathering spindle and it is new...still fine and straight. Control links are all straight, check to straight edge. Fly bar is straight and paddles are level to the head.
The one thing I did not mention was blades are just tight enough to hold them up but let them drop evenly with a firm shake. All the linkages and balls seem fine...firm but maneuverable and balls are in good shape.
Still having the tracking go off when ever I try to do flips or rolls...I adjust it and it flys fine as long as I don't do anything wild.
Any other ideas? There has got to be something I am missing

Status: offline 		possibly the blade grip bearings are wobbling in the grips themselves. i had to hand file them down so they would hold the bearings tighter.

with blades off wiggle the blade grips up and down, there should be very little play. if tracking goes out in moves it has to be mechanical and blade grips and or blade grip bearings are generaly the culprit. [something else would have to be loose]

Status: offline 		hmmmm... weird... what could it be? bearings? thrust bearings? putting a lot of stress on those bearings while doing the flips eiii.. Buy new bearings Ed .. tracking going off on me is simply a newbie problem, i just don't know how to set it up

Status: offline 		I have one suggestion - are your dampers lubricated? If not, dry dampers can do some strange things.

I personally use a special grease that the paintballers use on on their guns. It never dries out. I have a Mini-Titan with a G-Force head which uses three "O" rings per side. These can be adjusted for the type of flight desired by using harder or softer grades of rings - it is however important that they are lubricated.

The grease I use is DOW 33 sometimes know as "Sleek."

Try it, it might sort your problem. Hope this helps.

P.S.- I also use it to lubricate the blade roots. It makes a big difference there too.
