I know everyone says you shouldnt, blah blah, but, I just realized with -10% revo mixing in my radio with the g90 HH gyro, my Blades tail just became rock solid when you pump the throttle hard, up or down. The tail stays put. So, why is it you shouldnt use Revo mixing with a HH gyro?

Its probably not a true heading hold gyro. Revo mix is taken as a command to turn so any power setting different from where the gyro initialized and memorized as 0 drift, will cause the gyro to turn.

Actually, my G90 was very solid in the Trex 450. And, by all means made the blade pretty good. Now, with some - revo in my TX, I can pump it up and down fast, and the tail not come around. Before, the HH could not hold the tail.....

But, I have flown some now, and though it makes it a rock when pumping the throttle, anything over -10% does make it freak out when you try to use the rudder.

I didn't say it didn't hold well, just that its not a true heading hold gyro, like some of the cheaper ones claim to be.

I think the G90 is a true heading hold gyro. But, if truly want to get technical, none of our gyros are "True" heading hold. The AH-64 Apache (longbow), with GPS head hold.......NOW thats TRUE and REAL heading hold

The easy way is to give rudder input, if the servo stays put waiting for the helicopter to respond, its a heading hold gyro and revo mix will cause drift and other problems.

If the servo returns to center its a rate gyro with an exaggerated advertising claim.

Using Revo mix with a Heading Hold Gyro is counter productive. The Revo setting on the TX is going to conflict with the heading your gyro was given by you when you moved your rudder stick. Set your TX Revo to 0 (Inhibit on some TX's). Revo mix interferes with your heading hold gyro when you increase or decrease RPM and/or collective pitch. Makes for real bad Karma.

Revo was designed for Rate Gyros. They are an old design that follows the stick setting as long as you hold it. But, it will "follow" the turn of the chopper. Heading Hold Gyros "lock" on the last heading you set when you release your stick. You must hold the rudder through the turn. They are much more precise and you'll love it once you get used to it.
