Ok so im new to nitro rcs. I did have a tmaxx like 6 years ago but only had it a week and then sold it and have not use one since. I just picked up a AE monster gt 4.6SE.What are some things i should look at when i get it. It is used, it was broke in and tuned by a local hobby shop and has only had like 5 tanks thought it. It came with upgraded aluminum shocks and steering turnbuckle. It also has a radio from a MGT 8.0. Is there anything else i should look at upgrading on this truck..Thanks for the help.............Murph

Good to hear!!! I bought mine the same way you have, used very little. Check out the Monster GT thread. There is a lot of info and links to some sites they can give you.. Mine is stock 4.6 with a JR radio as the only upgrade. I have also changed the wheel/tire to losis. I have only had to replace a set of front arms due to stupidity..i.e. a shrub at w.o.t. lol.. my brother also has one and it has the metal shocks and a rollcage. It was bought of the Bay, go there and search for VG racing. It is a well built, sturdy cage!! Enjoy it!!

I would say get your self a Foc, its better to learn to drive with out reverse anyways.
And if you have the money i would get a better steering servo but the stock one is fine.
And you might fine that the stock pipe is really loud so xtm pipe or Losi HT pipe makes a big difference.

Well was ripping around the parking lot at work at 2:45am this morning and went over a curb, it spun a little and then it hoped twice and got over it up on to the grassy nole. When i came off the grass on to the pavement i noticed that i could really spin the tires and do insta-donauts with no problems. This was fun untill i relised that only the front tires were getting power. It seems that i broke something inside the tranny(2wd)..........or could it be something else. If i spin the tires they spin and so does the axels to the diff and from the diff to the tranny spins as well...........Any help before i take the tranny out and apart............................Murph

I would check your pins connecting the cv axles to the wheels.

Yeah, I can almost guarantee you lost a pin. When you replace it, use loc-tite on the threads.

You checked the pins in the out drives of the tranny? Were not talking about the pins in the dog bones.

Well maybe he was talking about them..lol I didn't read his post over..but check the pins that look like set screws in the blue anodized aluminum out drives of the tranny. Look at the picture on the bottom of this page. http://monstergt.com/articles/transmission.php Thats what I'm talking about.
