There seems to be a glitch corner at our field.

Any chance that flying near WiFi could cause an RX to see more of this signal than that from the further away TX, resulting in loss of control of the aircraft ?

They're both on 2.4GHz so why shouldn't it be a risk ?

If it is definately a defined area, I would try rebinding the system within that area. This way when the Spektrum scans for clear channels, it will move away from the "noisy" area and select 2 "clean" channels.

It may be that the WiFi is using the same 'channels' that your Spektrum has selected thinking that it is clear of traffic, only for you to drive headlong into a congested area.

Theoretically having the WiFi and the Spektrum up and running together shouldn't cause any difficulties but as we all know theory & practice are not always the same.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I'm going to use my mobile (it has an offline mode ;-) ) to scan for WLANs when I'm down there next time.

i was under the impression that the spektrum will scan and select two spare channels every time its switched on, so rebinding wont make any difference, the next time you turn it on again it will pick two more channels. possible the same but probably not

If its a Line Of Sight Transmission (Using high gain directional antennas) then if you are not in the beam when you switch a Spektrum on it will not detect it. I don't know if it scans from low to high or high to low each and every time or whether it starts scanning at a random position.

If you then fly into this beam, glitching may occur, hence powering up within the beam so it scans and selects 2 quieter "channels".
