now whats wrong with camaros?

Zilch! But....

The first gen Camaros (especially the RS/SS variety) were the shizzy. Even into the early 70s with the split front bumper they were gorgeous and fast.

I just think the WRX is a good choice given those specific options.

The old GM A-bodies and B-bodies were a force on the roadway, but they were not a choice here.

What? So they Cars that they are making now are going to be crap in 22years? because of the "fuel shortage"..LOL!...Like I said why do you need all the HP on a street legal car, And second... Just because its old don't mean it's junk man.. All you did was point out the obvious changes from 86-03' better handling, stereo..etc.. Umm of course? they didn't have that back then and all that crap add's weight to your car anyways since your all worried about your HP... LOL.. wow.. That post made me laugh a lot.. sorry to be rude but ya... LOL

You obviously misunderstood my post.

And yes, cars today will be crap in 22 years compared to the cars they will be making 22 years from now. duh.

edit: I just read some of your other posts and your "knowledge" of 1:1 cars is making me laugh lol...not be be rude or anything. It is a well known fact among us REAL gearheads that the 3rd gen Camaro was a dog. You trying to defend it makes you look kind of...well...not very knowledgeable. Do you even know the differences between the L98 and the LT1? Do you even know what an L98 and an LT1 is?

Come on.. Where do you get off being so arrogant? Does it matter what I know and don't know? You actually took the time to search My posts to "try and Prove me wrong"??? WOW... I PERSONALLY liked the 80's Cam's.. WHATS THE BIG DEAL? god almighty...

Everyone. Tone. It. Down.

Too many threads in the OT have been cut short because of ridiculous matters and needless bickering.

Don't make me Loctite this topic.

I, too, like the 80 camaros and i love the fact that it has t-tops, but it just has no balls. No power. American made which i love, but it just has nothing, so i am kinda leaning at the wrx, idk, we'll see

It is true that they have no guts, I will admit. But alot of these new cars people (kids) buy, They just go out and get cheap 5min bolt on jobs, With Camaros, You can do the same on both cars, But to get right down in there and do some MAJOR engine work, Heck..Just go buy a 454 crate motor..Try to fit that into a wrx ....

Always loved the tittle of this

it wouldn't be fun to be in a "muscle car" and not be able to keep up with basic camrys or accords, all the while burning more than twice as much gas as them

the speedometer on the mid 80's camaro's doesn't even go above 85 MPH, speeds on the freeway are higher than that from time to time around here

A muscle car with some tire burning power is a blast, but the 80's ones have all the drawbacks with none of the benefits

If you want an 80s muscle car, the Fox body mustang is the only real choice. The mullet twins (Camaro/firebird) of those years were ugly and pretty darn slow.

But out of your three options, the WRX is a no brainer assuming its in good shape with descent mileage.

I have to agree with the Fox body. The LX was the sleeper, still flaunting the 302 but without the body overage of the GT. This was at a time when the GM twins were going through a bloated period. The Mustang was definitely the hot ticket. Still one of my favorites despite growing up among the 3rd generation 'baby' Mustangs.
