Mike,
Still deciding on Lberty Bell...thiking that $1,000 in gas will buy 10 8611a's

Super Jets is kind of home field for me. I am a member at GA Jets...and grateful for such an awesome place to fly...best guys in the world to be around...even include Rusty Bardin when I say that.

May see you at LB.

Andy,
The guy that bought my Coral Sea F-4 was asking about a 39 lb thrust turbine with the pipe...told him he needed to check with Anton or Jeff. SOunds like he needs a different pipe from what you are saying.

I am getting my larger pipe from Skymaster. I confirmed that the larger pipe is needed from Bob Wilcox.

Rex,

Which nose door was giving you problems, the one attached to the strut or the one that is operated by the air cylinder? How did you attach the forward nose door to the strut?

Hope to see you at LBJR. If not, I plan on making it to Super Jets South.

Jim, thanks! You always seem to get my "kodak moments". Glad you missed the boxers on the trailer hitch at Jets Over Swamp in Waycross!!!

Andy, that is my F-4 and me doing "surgery" on the main gear doors!!! Yes, the pipe is tilted...that is how it sits when you have the turbine set onto the mounting rails and the pipe ends centered coming out of the tail cones. My F-18 has it too...not as drastic. The plane flies great, no wierd "thrust pitching" so I think I am dead on.

Mike, it is the larger nose gear door. It has 3 offset hinges but there is very little "beef" and because the cylinder is mounted to the front of the large door, the back flexes quite a bit. I magine that the amount of air flow is pushing the back of the door in thus snagging the nose gear as it retracts. My plan of attack is to beef up the skin where the hinges attach to the fuse and possibly change the cylinider out for a larger type to hold the door back better. The UP3 works perfect on the ground...even rightside up when testing.

Oh yea...make sure you have screws in your main gear doors where they attach to the struts AND use short screws to attch the wood shims to the doors too. Lost one because of it.

Any ideas you may have are welcomed...Andy you too.
