Ok so i ordered an rc18b (priority 2-3day) off ebay and it accidentally got sent to my older brothers address at college. (because without telling anyone he set it as defualt) so it sat at my local postoffice for a week then it was forwarded to where i used to live. where it has been since june 4. after calling them 3 time and 1 unresponded email they claim they are holding it at that post office until i can pick it up. so toady i go down to the post office and i get to talk to the manager because they can't find it, woo hoo! he says that he has no idea where the package is and that he can't believe they told me this post office would hold it without his confirmation which is needed to hold packages. so when i get back home i called them back up and they say, "oh, it en route back to the post office nearest you it should be at your house soon." and i respond with "how do you know that? can you see something on your computer that i can't, because thats what they said the second time i called, a week and a half ago." and he said "yes".

soooo.......looks like i won't be shipping usps for sometime. (or getting my package for another week)

No he said that they sent it to his brother's address, then it was sent to his old house and now they don't know where it is.

Why didn't you just ask your brother to take it to you (if he's close) or asked him to send it to you? If he did that, they woulnd't have sent it to your old house.

it was sent to his college dorm which is closed because he is out of school. and i do see how it is partialy my fault but i think when i called before it even got to my local post office this should have probably gotten sorted out. know it is 3 weeks, 4 calls and 1 email later and they lost it.

It surely isn`t USPS fault that shipping default was set at your brother`s place . There isn`t much they can do if they don`t have the correct info . Even now that they do , they have to wait until it gets back to them to ship it to your address .

"No he said that they sent it to his brother's address"

That is because that is the address they were given . Not the Post Office`s fault for being given the incorrect info .

Sounds like its not the post office's fault. It got shipped to your brother's (not their fault), then got shipped ot an old address? (not their fault again).

I shipe priority mail a lot, I sell a good amount of stuff on ebay. It is reliable and reasonably priced. Now I never shipped it to a wrong address since when people buy stuff from me they give me the correct one.

MOD: Please change this thread title to " I'm Gripey Mc Whiner, and my brother is a tool"....

Would make much more sense than an angry rant laying blame on USPS for doing their job properly.

LOL.....

OP, go punch your bro in the sack for being a DE DE DE.

HEHEHHEHE...

In my many years of hobbying...I've had hundreds of packages shipped from all over the globe. USPS is easily one of the best...maybe the best...second only to FedEx...but they are way cheaper than FedEx. UPS blows...their ground shipping is stupid slow...haphazard tracking...my packages now say "delivered" hours or even a full day before they are. Plus UPS drivers are notorious for the knock and run or throwing your packages up on your porch. FedEx tracking rocks...they say 10:30AM on so and so date...its there at that time. Plus their drivers are pretty cool about caring for your stuff. DHL blows unless your a big business. The best thing about USPS...free shipping on Saturday baby! Well...that and ****in Star Wars stamps. Vader will Force choke you if you keep this up. JK...I feel your pain though...but it sounds like your brother's forwarding address is what did it...if thats what you were trying to say...if thats the case...he should have stopped the forward when he left school. If it wasn't your brother's forwarding address problem...it would have to be your mistake wouldn't it? How the heck else would they get his address.

I've had the USPS ship stuff to the wrong address twice. They shipped a Tower order of mine to what seems like a random address. Fortunately, the recipient was honest and sent it back to Tower who then sent to me. Took three weeks to get an order that should have taken no more than three days.
Second time was a Full Force RC order that they somehow managed to catch after it arrived in the wrong town.
Yes, it's a typical government run service.

It is his fault that he accidentally sent it to the wrong place, but what about the part where they lost it? I've had many "unsatisfactory" deliveries through the USPS. I'm always getting my catalogs and magazines arriving at my house in a large envelope, because the morons completely shredded the things. Even a few packages that looked as though they were used to play football in the sorting room. No, the post office is far from being perfect.

I consider that UPS is one of the best. I've always had it arrive on time and it was ALWAYS faster than the post office. Tracking is excellent and they don't beat the snot out of the packages either, which is more than I can say for USPS. Are you quite sure that you don't have the two mixed up? I've had many packages delivered through UPS and it has NEVER been like you described.

i've had good and bad experiences with every popular shipper

face it, they all handle millions of packages daily
it's surprising really that thee are not more problems than there are

having said that, it's pretty ignorant for the op to be blaming the usps for this mix-up
they did ship it safely to the first two addresses they were given
it's not usps's fault that they were given the wrong addresstwice
imho, that's pretty much the op's fault.
i mean really, who doesn't verify that the shipping address is correct when they buy something onl
