I have been running my PAW .061, and now that I am getting the feel for it, I was looking at the play in the prop shaft IE crank and the side to side movement seem more than any engine I have run; I have an old Fox 36 rc that was my #2 engine and it has a lot of time on it and it is still tight. What do you think?

sounds like your front bushing is abit worn. these can be tapped out and replaced and if you have a small lathe you can do it all yourself. as long as this engine is still running ok just leave it until you have problems.

Freeair,

The reason that I ask is this is my first PAW or diesel for that matter; It is new and I have only run six break in runs on it. So how do other PAW engines compare in prop shaft movement?

Near all plain beared engines has more or less play in prop shaft, but there are not do be worried. See at the OS LA engines has "rattling" sound when the engine are in idling, it can mean the engine has more play than other engines.

I has both new and old engine, there are play in prop shaft and it is neccesay to keep oil entered into between plain bearing and crankshaft.

Too much play will cause poor crankcase compression and will make difficult to start the two stroke model engine. Normal fit are up to 0.001"-0.003", above 0.003" are too much.

Walther,

A somewhat easy indicator is if fuel runs out the front while it is running. Some can be tolerated and is referred to as a wet-nosed engine. If you feel it is excessive, contact PAW or the person you got it from.

George

Edit: Type "O".
