Ive been looking at this video downlink for a little while wondering how well it works
http://www.wirelessvideocameras.net/product/S8/L58253__58GHz_25_Mile_Range_1Watt_Airborne_Video_Downlink__380_Camera__Audio.html

I'm curious if anyone has experience with any other 5.8ghz transmitters, as I would like to switch the radio over to 2.4 and not mess with my video signal.
as of yet this is the only site ive seen that sells 5.8 models, if anyone has a link to other sites that sell them it would be apreciated

The Distance range isnt really the issue i want the power for, its the terrain in my area. we have no flat land, its all hills and trees and its hard to get a good signal unless I go well above the maximum altitude for this type of aircraft.

You may incur additional issues due to a high power transmitter because of signal bounce and the multipath issues that it can cause, especially in the presence of obstacles. A reflected signal from a high power transmitter at these frequencies may be easily strong enough to be received along with the direct signal and cause areas of addition and subtraction that cause dropouts and fades. A high quality diversity receiver in conjunction with a moderate power transmitter may actually do better in the long run.

thats another decent looking downlink ill add to my considerations.
I've got a cheap 1.2ghz link I got on Ebay a while back also. it came with a broken wire leading to the reciever antenna so I never tested it beyond 10' or so inside the house. i may just get a new antenna all togeather and test it out and see what kind of range i can get with it.
Are there any other 5.8 units that are available?
