If by big you mean 3 meter try the Big Bird Xl a super fine woody that has options for spoilers and flaps. I am building one now for RES competition flying. It is a nice laser cut well designed kit. It has the wing form similar to the Bird of Time but that is the only resemblance.

Look towards Germany. IMHO, Germans are the undisputed masters of advanced sailplanes. Unless you want something really exotic (and very costly) I suggest you look into the offerings of Graupner. The Graupner Diamant and Soarmaster are very nice "advanced" gliders. The Soarmaster is well suited for thermalling.

what it boils down to is this: There are a lot of good sailplanes available on the market. How much money do you have and how much are you willing to part with? You can get a good start for a couple of hundred dollars (or Euros) or you can spend several thousand for the latest-greatest with all the bells and whistles. If you haven't flown sailplanes before, I'd recommend something in the middle of the spectrum. You're in Europe, so hopefully the German and Czech designs wouldn't be as expensive for you as they are here. Do a good google search and see what you come up with. Check with other flyers locally and see what they fly. Study up first and then make your choice. Good luck, and remember to have some fun doing it.

The Cularis from Multiplex thermals really great and has a very reasonable price tag for its size

Yes the cularis looks good. You may want to consider it.

You do not see many advance sailplanes that have spoilers AND flaps. It is usually one or the other, unless it is a scale sailpalne. Some of the Ventus designs have both. But for typical competition sailplanes they usually have one or the other.

For a full house, R/E/A/F, I have the Supra. Sold by Kennedy Composites in the US, but made by Vladimir models in Chek Republic.

If you want a RES model, I have the AVA

I would recommend them to anyone with confidence.
