Hey guys

I went to an air show today and they had some amazing planes. I had to share them with you guys. Most notable are the only remaining flying Lancaster boomer and the only flying ME109 in North America.

ENJOY!

This was the big money shot of the day.

The lancaster, 2 Spits, the Hurricaine, and the ME109 flying in formation.

Great shots of some fantastic airplanes! Just to be nitpicky, the Battle of Britain Memorial flight also has a flying Lancaster and Paul Allen has a flying Me-109 in Seattle, WA. (It's a real 109E, not a Hispano)

P51 Fan, it's great to see WPHM's aircrafts flying once again, Lancaster and Harwards were suppose to come to Toronto Aerospace Museums Wheels and wings festival (Airshow) couple weeks ago but didn't showed up and at last moment canceled on us!.

Lanc looks just great flying in formation with other warbirds, specially 109!..Thanks for posting these pictures for us.

I love seeing these planes in flying condition but really have mixed feelings about it. I would hate to see a true WW2 warbird go down never to be replaced. Its happened before..

On a side note I watched a video on youtube about the germans flying wing. I wasnt aware they had one in restorable condition. Thats just amazing how far ahead of their time them darn germans were.

Hi All,

Great Photos and thanks for posting them, but I want to be nit picky too!

My pet hate is referring to "real" planes as in the title of this thread. Our models are real planes too ! Just as "real" as the full size ones are !
I like to refer to these full size planes as just that ..full Size . Our models are usually less than full size and are pilotless but are still real planes.

O.K., now I have gotten that of my chest, I will sign off and thanks again for the great pictures of the full size warbirds.

Cheers,
Merlin Man.

I am glad to see the planes in the air as to me all planes need to be there. The happy but erie part is how the flight is in friendship when years ago was in anger; I am happy of the friendship part but it is also like great athletes not getting the chance to play, baring someone getting hurt. When I was a kid there was some type of Tora Tora flight that came through town in the early 70's, a Zero with T6 wingmen, my dad said to me how odd to see foreign fighter craft over head.

Chad Veich,

Sorry for the mix-up. I was just going by what I heard (or thought I heard) on the loud speaker during the show. I am just getting into the hobby and don't know aircraft as much as most of you.

Merlin Man,

These are REAL planes. We create RC models of them, deal with it.

ErikElvis,

It would be a great shame to loose one of these planes. But it amazing to see them do what they were made for and not sitting on the ground. I guess I have mixed feelings about it too, but I wasn't going to miss it.

Props4ever,

If you get the chance you should attend the air show, it was amazing. Sorry to hear about your event. I know they operate on very limited funds, and with the help of a lot of volunteers. Whenever they get the chance to show off there work they try too. There must have been some reason for the cancelation.

No need whatsoever to apologize p51 fan. I would bet dollars to donuts that you heard exactly what you think you heard over the loud speaker. I'm constantly amazed at just how little most airshow announcers really know about the aircraft in front of them! Thanks again for sharing the outstanding pictures.

PS - For anyone who is interested in full size warbirds I highly recommend the Warbirds Information Exchange forum. There are more pictures from this event as well as many others to be found at the link below.
