I did my first Loop and flip loop with my T-Rex today , this was affecting my sleep I just had to do it but never had the courage to do it. So on my last flight before a storm on my last 2 min I just did it and my hearth was speeding at supersonic speed , I wanted to land but 2 flyers wanted to see it too so I did another one then I had to land to relax for 2 min, then up again for a flip loop, beleive me I left a happy camper today , now I will sleep well

Now I can move on with my progress

Unlike doing a loop with an airplane while you really enjoy that big "O" doing a loop with a helicopter it just seems endless ,the collective and cyclic management during the loop is really something but when its done its a total rush at least for now
The problem today is that it seems like it was just a dream so I have to do it again very soon

Yup next the rolls and then inverted but I will take it slow and get more at ease with the loops and Flips

Congrats!!! I finally hovered over the weekend. It is a major accomplishment for me. My birds where grounded and spending a lot of time in the Phoenix sim. Finally over the weekend I just took them out for hovering. Didn't do anything fancy. Just wanted to see the comparison between the sim and the real thing. The rush you get with the real thing is no comparison. I can only imagine the rush you get when doing loops and other neat stuff you can do.

Congrats! I just flipped my t-rex over last night for the first time myself! I started with a couple rolls, they went well so I did half a roll and then waited, flipped it back, then half a roll, pushed it up and over. After that I did a few loops/ flip loops. All I have to say is WOW! what a difference compared to my BCPP!

Thanks
Joe

You wont beleive this ,my Rex went down this afternoon at my club and not even from my loops that were still going well but from the wind that picked up very fast before I could come around to land.
Just after my loop no.3 I turned around to come back but the very strong wind blew my Rex away so fast like a dead leaf ,nothing I could do, it got too far too fast that I could not even tell it was a Heli.
Decided to hit the power switch and hope for little damage.
When I got to it ,suprise, not bad after all and it came down from no less then a 100 feet.
Damages: Radix blades, main shaft, spindle , flybar bent just a touch , one skid and main gear.
Not even a scratch on the canopy this is one amazing machine

Cool!
Couple of questions...
Did you have it in normal or idle up?
Havent looped or fliped mine yet, but from the way it responds it seems that it would do it in normal mode without any effort.
What radio are you using? what settings?

Well its all repaired after 2 hours, just tested a hover outside and no vibration.

So I replaced the Main shaft, the main blades now back to Woodies , the main gear , the skids . The feathering spindle was OK and the flybar is strait again.

I still cant beleive how strong that T-Rex 450 SE V2 is

Normal mode and I have Pitch -9 and +9 , but that depends on how you adjusted your normal mode

So, Im guessing. But it will hover for you at about 2/3 throttle?

At mid stick I hover thats the way I like mine, before I had one notch above mid to hover.

Empty Wallet,

You are probably going to want it in idle up to do loops, or 3D. In normal, you might be able to pull up on the stick and give it full power, but in idle up, you have the negative pitch and throttle when you bring your throttle stick down, so therefore, you can go inverted and not be pulled towards the ground.

I was out again for two more flights with the T-Rex last night, and Im loving it! Im starting to hover inverted, but I am experiencing some blade cavitation I think it is. When I flip it over, the blades dont bite the air like in a hover, it takes a bit of playing with the throttle to get it to bite in. This also happens when upright. It seems when I come out of forward flight into a hover, I lose grip of the air with my blades for a few seconds. Any thoughts?

Thanks
Joe

check your pitch in idle up. it should be at 0 at midstick. i like mine at -10, +10
