Well, not so sure if one of these are up yet, I've only noticed a mlst but, here's a new one if there is!

By the way, any using an aluminuim spur with the stock pinions? Is that a good combo to do or use both alum spur and pinion?

I tried the Hot Racing 55 tooth aluminum spur gear from the toyz.com on my MMB. I only got two packs through it. I set the gear mesh correctly using notebook paper and thread locked the motor adjuster screws. After the second pack I noticed aluminum powder all inside the gear cover. The spur and both pinions were shark toothed. I replaced the whole setup with the dual disk slipper and hardened pinions. I am much happier.

What spur/dd slipper are you using? I keep hearing of people using a dd slipper but, I can never find anyone to help me out on what they're using for a spur that works with a dd

The spur that comes with the DD slipper from losi is the one that I use. You cant continue to use the gear cover without modifications but I've never used it anyway.

You can use the cover and the only modification is to add spacers/washers under the mounting tabs. Easy to do and will save your gears if you ever run in rocky soil. The pinion size depends on the motor(s) being used.

p.s. Search the forum, I found all of this info in previous threads when building my BL MMB.

with twin 8000kv motors how long would a 1900 mah lipo last? I already know about the severe risk of drive damage.

I got the mini lst2 and I really like it. I have a question, what do you think is wrong with mine. I am getting a noise from the truck around the slipper clutch area and I have plastic dust from the gears all over the cover. When I take the cover off and look at the big gear, it looks to be spinning out of round. Not sure if I am imagining that or not. Tried tightening it but to no change. What did I mess up and need to replace? Is it a common problem?

If the slipper was too loose, the inside of the spur gear can melt. Mine did that and the symptom was the same as yours. It appeared to be out of round. For about $3 replace the spur gear. Make sure to set the slipper correctly. It should not slip excessively.

Thanks my slipper ID is round! Looks like you were right. I heard some sort of clicking, I assumed it was the tranny but now I think it was the gear moving from side to side hitting the 2 other gears making this noise because of it being stripped.

you dont want metal on metal in the spur/pinion area, as it will wear quickly unless the gears are hardened, which being aluminum they arent.. aluminum is too soft... stick with plastic spurs and just set the mesh and slipper right and they will last a long time.

I got my MLST2 yesterday, it was used and sold for $100 with all the electronics.
It didn't have a body and the body posts were destroyed during frequent rollovers by a bad driver.
It has swaybars on there.

I made a new steering linkage that connected the two servos and it turns well now, was really slopy before.

I'm thinking of strapping in a mamba 6800 kV system and changing the difs and dogbones to MIP hardware.

here is a pic of my stock ride and my cat - it was love a first sight!

Hey everyone, I have the mini baja/t and I want to change the tx and rx. Is the 2.4ghz any good that comes stock with the mini lst2 and mini monster baja? I had problems with the stock esc and bought a dynamite tazer 12t esc with the orion baja motor, using the team losi 7.4 lipo. Working good so far, seems to run alittle cooler. I dont really have the money right now to buy the spektrum dx3r.
