Yeah, in Southern Wisconsin the wind has been crappy for flying, very high winds. Tornados, T-Storms, and major flooding. This one big park by a river majorly flooded and you can't see were the water meets the banks, everything is underwater houses, businesses, etc. WI has been hit hard, dang that mother nature !

Has been windy also here in IL but with the wind we had sever weather where I live. One storm three weeks ago brought hail the size of baseballs doing over $30,000 damage to property I own. One tornato just a little north of me brought down high tension lines closing I-57 for a few days. Many areas had flooding. This week has been the best weather we've had so far this year.

You want to go flying. You look outside at the trees. Barely moving, pack the plane(s) and head to the field. You look outside and see the tree tops doing the Watoosie...you stay in and sulk. This is where all R/C pilots need a CRUD Plane. A CRUD Plane can be flown anytime, anywhere. Regardless of the wind...IT FLIES! A CRUD Plane is expendable, but really add to your ability to master the elements. Try it, you may have a new attitude towards flying. Best of Luck to all of you.

I think you are on to something. Presidential election year at that! And we do have a bumper crop of candidates. This could explain the warmer temperatures as well, global warming due to political hot air!

Flak has a good point- - "typically" as the sun begins to set the wind calms down. When I was just starting R/C wind was never a factor just made an effort to stay up wind ,more so than down wind. The reality might be we are going to have to 'deal with the winds,be it N,S,E or W

Another thing comes to mind years back I read an article in RCM or was it Model Airplane News or... The author well respected said a plane does not know there is wind....(any takers on this?)
