Im thinkin of Gettin a Novarossi 21-7BT Off Road 7 port engine for my Losi 8ight T. Does anyone know how good this motor is. My friend said its one of the best motors avaible that havnt been modded. anyone else know of a better one?
I talked with a rep from amainhobbies and they said it will need a starter box. Does anyone have any suggestions on one? (They suggested an Ofn10250) i also seen one made for the 8ight T/B so i dunno)
Thanks

that is not really that great of an engine IMO........ Its not overly powerful and it can be picky to tune and prone to fameouts..........Its power is not that good and IMHO its not enough juice for a Truggy...... It is one of the weakest .21's I have run yet...

How much cash do you want to spend?

I always recommend the sportwerks .21 V2 as a budget engine as its so user friendly. The 7 port rossi is not a good mill, I agree 100% with super.

I ran a GO tech 5 port .21 in my MBX5T and it was also a great engine. Your driving skills are what matters, don't get caught up in the "I need the best engine game" as you'll only be wasting money. An RB C6 is a great engine, but my 5 port go tech never lost ground down the main straight and had all the low end snap I needed. A ton of people at my old track switched to cheaper engines once they realized that driver is 99%.

Cash isnt the issue. I want it to be one of the fastest 8ight t's to ever live. If i cannot achieve it by nitro i will have to result in going brushless which i dont really wanna do so..... any help would be great

If you want to go fast then why are you only resorting to a .21? I've heard great things about the RB C6. If money isn't a problem then I would look into a RB 928 or picco 28 p3. I haven't seen too many reviews on the newest O.S. .28xz yet but If its anything like the .30 its gonna lack top end.. Another good .21 would be the O.s. .21VZ-B V-spec motor. Its a lot less then the RB C6 but still in the top 5 of .21's.

I dont know why i was going for the .21 i guess its because what i have heard from people. Alot of people i know say big blocks and stuff lack top end. I really dont know... in the last 2 weeks i bought an 8ight T and it was my first BB. and the picco .26 in my tmaxx is the 2nd and both havnt really been very hard to tune. no problems at all yet. LOL but i know the 8ight t can go alot faster wit a bigger engine. Im lookint at the 928 or the picco .28 p3.

Glad to see you got the 8-T. Get used to the mach .26 for a little while first. Its a really good mill in terms of reliability. Change out the oils in the diffs to start. The stock oils are too thin in the center. The front tires ballooned a lot untill my bro change out the center diff oil. Then look into king heads for stronger bracing. They have good quality parts and the RTR chassies needs it. These are a good peice of insurence and also a good form of protection(no pun intended).

Thanks nitro, you kinda takled me into it. Im glad i chose the 8ight t over the muggy. YEa the mach is alright the guy at my LHS told me to get a picco p3 .28 and a JP-4 pipe. he said its amazing. I already changed the diff oils i have 10,000F - 7,000C - 1,000R. It works out alot better than the stock oils. i already have a few things from king heads ordered. im thinkin on getttin the better chassis as well. but i dunno its kinda pricy!!!

Your next set of tires and wheels shoud deff be an LPR set. They are twice as light as any mt tire and wheel. I think you need to go a little heavier on the center diff then 7K tho. I was thinking of the buku pipe over the JP-4. There not to far off on price and a couple people I have seen liked the Buku better.

Thanks largescale but im not an ebay person really. I dont trust that site. But thanks anyways.

But supertib that 0S 28 Looks pretty darn fast.

I have talked with alot of people on here and at my LHS but it seems to me that everyones engine decisions are in there own opionion. I have watched a ton of vid and looked at alot of nitro motors. But i guess i have to resort to brushless power. Nothin seems to touch it.
Thanks to all who have tried to help me!!!

i been a ebay member for years and if you know how to shop you can get great deals and great items..you should create a ebay account, and only by from sellers with great feedback thats the key if you buy something from a member with 96.1 % feedback chances are you gonna get screwed, next thing your money is covered 100% from pay pal meaning if you receive an item " NOT AS DESCRIBED" you can put a claim into paypal and pay pal will get you money back for you!

i run a store on ebay thats why i know, its a great place to find hard to find parts at a great price!
