I put the MSD wire on last night, and obviously the stock spark plug protector doesn't fit at all. I made my own spark plug protector. I will clean the parts up and polish them- this is the rough first pass version. I just couldn't spend $50-60 that these companies want for an aftermarket cover. This one cost me $0 since I already had the parts.

The side mounts are taller then the plug wire and will absorb the shock of an impact. The brace makes the mounts more rigid. I think it should work just fine. I am going to keep the rubber side down as much as possible though and I am not going to run or jump on the street anymore.

not a bad job on the plug protector, it looks like it'll do the job. but just to let you know, you have your rear turtleracing shock brace on wrong. it should be turned around and up against the shock towers and not on top. here's a pic right from the ad, and another that's not my baja. the way you have it, moves the top of the shock forward alittle. and can cause binding in the shock

I like the paint job !

nice fade and flame into the blue !

Cood mod. I always wondered why they didnt make the spark plg cap frame hosing in metal, and the roof in plastic... mine it trashed from rolls, and pavement slashes and scatches.

Why didn't HPI just make the roll cage go up high enough to protect the spark plug?

davesmotors.com sells that MSD plug wire. They probably have the coil also.

the stock set up does protect the plug, it's when you put after market plugs and wires on it, is when you run into problems.
