Hey guys, I'm looking for a bit information about painting. Heres is what I want to do; I have some buggyies and trucks that have some near perfect bodies, but I'm so tierd of the "stock" paint sceme. I would like to practice with those bodies, and at the same time experiment with diffrent colors. I'm guessing I have to paint the outsides of the stock bodies, how does this method look and hold up? I was wondering if their was a solvent that would effectivly remove the old stock paint?

I also have a buggy that I would like to experiment with by painting the rims, wing, and maybe the springs. Would you use the same poly paint for the plastic rims and wing? If any of you guys have had experiance with these issues, please chime in.

- Cheers -

use rit dye for the rims and wing. if you need to know the steps for how to do this, go back to the post on "i hate white rims" on which you showed your comedic skills and READ how to use rit dye.its 3 posts before my first one. paint your springs. while your waiting for the paint to dry pick up a dictionary and correct yourself on every mistake you made in your post. smack yourself in the face for every mistake you have made.........hard. whos the funny one now? as for your shells, forget the old ones. use them as muck around shells. go buy new shells(seriously, there not that expencive). if your really having problems masking, cut a 2l coke bottle into sections and practice masking on that. if your useing rattle cans and your having problems, my only real advice is hold your cand back further, masking/painting should'nt be a problem even for beginners. just do 2-3 LIGHT COATS. then back up with an accent colour if desired. some people do paint the outside of the shells, i wouldnt. unless your useing it as a display body. as soon as you hit anything and with buggy's this could even be small stones, your paint will scratch.

4.6...how well the outside-painted bodies hold up depends entirely on how you drive. If you hit lots of stuff, it won't last long. Best thing to do is to get some scrap flat lexan and practice on that. You can get a decent sized sheet from the LHS for 3-4 bucks.

No, I don't run my buggies into trees or walls, therefor it should be perfect for me. Thanks

The bodies I'm looking to paint are in near perfect shape, I'm not looking to paint the outside of a "basher".

How about the springs?

Yes, harlie- I'm completly aware of "rit" dye. Thanks ... Love your grammer skillz too by the way.

How about two tone paint jobs for the wheels?
