This is a heads up to everyone who buys a JR radio. Look in the owners manual and if it says (The charger supplied with this system) page 10 in my manual then have your LHS call them and they will ship you a free charger. I bought the radio a month or so ago and when I didn't see a charger in the box asked about it and got a free charger. Good luck!

I was thinking that the radio should come with a charger included. When I talked to the LHS they said that the "Norm" was the charger was sold seperate. They also said that JR would probably change their manual so that "charger supplied" would not be there anymore.

I have never bought a radio that didnt come with a charger. Makes me think your hobby store either pulled it out for a customer needing one or the radio was mis-packaged. how else are you supposed to charge your tx?

This is most definately not the norm in packaging and the only case in the past where I have not seen a wall charger accompany the TX are stripped units sold as buddy boxs.

To all appearances if true this in my opinion is a slightly cheezy marketing ploy.

At any rate to all who may seek alternate sources of chargers for their units be aware JR and JR alone (except possibly brands made by JR) chooses to wire their charge jacks in their Tx's with center pin negative as opposed to all competitors who use center pin positve on their tx charge jacks..

Using any other brand wall charger without reverseing of the polarity on the Tx side of the wall charger will at a minimum burn the fuse out and possibly worse. Same is true if you use a JR charger in any other brand tx without modification.

I would hope this is just a case of some LHS just trying to pass off merchandise that has been stripped rather than any real marketing or packaging ploys.

Rather than a "Cheezy marketing ploy" I'll bet that it was a) an oversite; or b) that it was 'ship without or hold the orders.

If I were making that decision I would NOT hold shipment. (yes if that were the case then a simple notice really would have been nice)

Simply guesses but having dealt with Horizon for some time I place them at THE top regarding both the products and the service-support offered.

That is first hand experience over a number of years talking not ANY guess work.

Repeatedly I have found that Horizon not only stood up to their moral obligations but went the extra mile without being asked.

NO, I have zero connection with Horizon other than that of "satisfied customer" no sponsorship, no employment no_____well "no nothing".

Edit addition:
BTW that was a good "heads up".

I fully concur with you Onewasp and like I posted I would hope this statement by an irresponsible retailer is just a lie and not some real move by Jr to cheapen the product.

Question: Did you buy a JR radio system or just a packaged TX? I bought the JR X9303 2.4GHz system 2 months ago. This is the combo which come with transmitter, receiver but no servos. They included the JR wallwart charger (150mAH on both TX and RX jacks). No RX pack tho...

And, the JR and Spektrum chargers are the same - you can charge your JR with a Spektrum charger and charge your Spektrum radio with a JR charger.

I own a LHS and have never sold a radio without a charger. One of two things happened. One the store is selling things separate out of the radio, maybe on internet or it was shipped without it. In the second case the store should have seen it missing and had it replaced before you bought it. In any case it was his responsibly to replace it for you. Dennis

I bought a system (JR Sport SX600) It came with servos UL RX and crystals everything but a charger. I am still waiting for a response from Horizon. I am thinking that I will have to find another LHS to do business with. Its too bad because it is right on my way home from work and they are very nice other than trying to make extra money on chargers. I wonder if it is that most of their business is in cars not planes. Could that make a difference?

Here is what Horizon said, I still can't believe they would send out a radio with out a charger!

That depends on what you bought if you bought the ultralite system that comes with the SM22 Hi Speed Sub-Micro servo and the 6-Channel UL Receiver then no it would not come with a charger. If you bought the JR SPORT SX600 6-CHANNEL SYSTEM MD2 than yes it would come with a charger.

I hope you find this information useful. If you should have any further questions, please reply to this email or give us a call at 1-877-504-0233.
