Status: online 		Hi, are there any pros/cons in setting the centerpoint and end-point of the 7955 using the HFP-20, or by using a programmable radio? Is the servo linearity different when doing this using the HFP-20, or through the radio? Thanks!

Status: online 		Not sure if this is what you're asking, but here goes.

The down and dirty answer is that the first thing I do to a new program is to max out the ATV percentages on the transmitter.
If this isn't done, you are not using the full potential/resolution of your transmitter or servo.
My typical servo resolution is 55° in each direction, and JR ATV at 150%
If I set up my linkages correctly, I'll never have to reduce any ATV in the transmitter.
It's all done with control horn height, and pushrod length.
It's amazing how the throttle and controls feel when it's done this way.
Works too!


So that being said, ask your question again and give some detail as to how your transmitter and servo are set up.

My question is not so much how to set up servos but whether using the programmer HP-10 or the tranmitter functions makes any difference. As far as I can tell it doesn't but I would like confirmation.

Status: online 		I would max out your transmitter and see if it gives you what you want in the amount of throw.
If not, then program the servo.

If they are ganged, use both.

Status: offline 		If you are using only one servo per control surface then you will notice no difference if using the radio or HFP programmer. It's when the servos are ganged that you must use the programmer and not the radio to set up the servos.

Status: online 		Hi Mike, If the servos are ganged with each servo assigned to separate radio channels (not through a y splitter), will it make a difference? Each servo can still be adjusted individually through the radio. In this case, what are the advantages of using the HFP? Thanks

Status: online 		rajul -> Your way is sort of like using a matchbox, or the programmer, and works great until there are no more channels left.

I did it that way on a 40% using a 10X and a point mix.
Just ran out of channels after awhile.

Status: offline 		Using the programmer will assure the settings never change and will absolutley sync the servos perfectly. I cannot guarantee this using the radio to set each servo. That's not to say that you shouldn't use the set up you suggest... it's just that using the programmer is the optimal method.

Status: offline 		I have found the HFP-20 to be of tremndous value in setting up a biplane. If you have all 4 aileron servos on seperate channels you can dial them in with the radio.... if not and have the right top and bottom ailerons on one channel and the left top and bottom ailerons on another channel the HFP-20 makes it possible to get a very precise set up.

I am glad I bought one.... I fly Ultimates
