I have been operating three diesels for about 5-6 years. All are equipped with mufflers and exhaust extensions to direct the exhaust in the "friendliest" direction. Today I was at the field by myself and used the opportunity to fine tune my P.A.W. 19. When I was finished, I noticed a larger-than-normal oil spot in the grass.

Usually, I start, adjust, and fly leaving a small amount of oil. This time there was considerably more. I ended up using the alcohol spray bottle I use for model cleanup to spray the grass and wipe it off (as much as possible).

There has to be a better way, and I am sure one of you knows it.

Suggestions? Thanx in advance for any ideas! Dzl

============

Our NJ club used to have a member that began using a Davis Diesel conversion head on an OS .90 FSR, bought an orange pickup truck and became an insurance agent all in the same week. After seeing the dead spot that his recently acquired Diesel conversion caused on the club field, we immediately dubbed him as, "Agent Orange". <G>

We then adopted a by-law requiring Diesel engine users to bring a piece of carpeting to place on the ground beneath the model to prevent the deadspots in the grass. It worked.
