Cool pics! What was the target? Was there a bombing competition?

John

Nope - No target except the grass the other side of the runway.

So will there be an open bomb drop competition next year? I know of a certain aircraft that would be particularly suited to that type of competition. I'm thinking of making a trek back to my home town for the event.

What about the van that Frosty mentioned trying to bomb in another post (one of the edited posts )?

That isn't when these pictures were taken. These were taken during the event with the public present.

I'm interested in the event. It should be no problem to win if Frosty couldn't hit "the grass on the other side of the runway". Here is a a cut and paste from his edited post:

Guys -

Just got home after cleaning up the field and locking the Gates.

What an awesome time we had during those 4 1/2 days!!! Today I darned near cried seeing everyone pulling out of the parking lot as you guys headed home throughout the day. You guys are ALL family to us and I seem to get more and more attatched to you guys each and every year. I would like to thank the SLRC crew for making the Event such a HUGE success. We had 31 Pilots and that is just about right. (there is always room for more next year)

Today I logged 7 flights on the new Camo BobCat and we made 3 BOMB runs. We tried to hit a target but never came close to it. I guess I need to practice some more! What a great time we had!

Man.....................I am missing you guys already and cant wait for next year! Boy................runnin these Events really wears a guy out but it is SOOOOOO worth it!

Okay Alec..........................lets keep those pictures rolling! Devi.................thank you so much for the pictures for us to share and relive the moments!

I guess "a van" changed to "a target" to "the grass"....................Aw heck, I'm too old for your event and I probably complain too much. I wouldn't want to get banned from the event or field or put on double-secret probation or anything like that .

Tailwinds,

John
