I am trying to bash a p-51 arf and I would like to get the correct size spinner. I have no idea of how to find what the correct size spinner would be. The plane has a 65" wingspan. If any more info is needed please let me know.

Thanks for any help,
Mike

I wouldn't worry about his comment; I think he is stating that, that question is a big ask.

I don't know the exact size, but as the smaller Top-Flite Mustang is virtually the same size as yours, so you should use the same spinner. Keep in mind that the 1/5 TF P-51 spinner is actually smaller than scale and it's triue scale size is 5.5inches; therefore this inaccurate sizing may be the same with the smaller scale P-51.

Good luch with it.

Hey slowglowflyer,

I have the 1/7 scale top flite p-51 and i used a 4" spinner on mine. it's exactly the same span as yours, but as ProRcscale said, just because top flite have designed their kit to suit that sinner doesn't mean its the correct size. having said that, i think that the 4" spinner is pretty close.

If you want to get the full sized spinner dimentions and scale that figure to suit your model, then look up tony howard or spychella aircraft here on the forums( they also sell p-51 exhaust stubs, and cowls that you might want to take a look at for yours), they have a wealth of knowledge on the subject including the correct spinner sizes

Thanks

dave

Hey 51 guy that is one nice looking mustang! What model and size is it? Can you explain your prop setup? My favorite pic is your last one that looks sweet! Do you have a gearbox on the prop or something? Both of these mustangs look sweet!

P.S. What size spinner is that?

Thanks again guys,
Mike

hey 51-d Guy

The info was for slowglowflyer

Real nice 'stang..... i would LOVE a byron mustang... i have been trying to get a second hand byro drive for a pica musang i have here ready to build, just because it's eaier to mail to australia. Iron bay still sell them but without engine they want $700+ . are you using the new supposedly stiffer blades?

SLowglowflyer, 51-d guy's mustang is about 1/5 scale Byron P-51D and uses the byro drive system, they have been our of production for some years now and still command a pretty good price as they are the only kit/drive line combo that fies with an almost scale sized prop..... in my book nothing beats an 4 blade prop!
