My stock TC4 tires lasted about 8 packs before they had holes all the way through to the foam. They were good tires. I didn't expect them to last forever with a brushless motor. I don't race, except for with my kid in empty parking lots, and I love to over-throttle the turns to get sideways. So, what are the longest lasting rubber tires I can possibly get for my TC4? I don't want drift tires though, they would make the brushless 5.5 turn Vector motor pretty useless. Thank you everybody for suggestions!

Well, rubber tires wont last very long no matter what brand or style they are. I would recommend trying Jaco Nitro Shoes. I run them on my Hot Bodies Cyclone Andy Moore Edition with a 2.5T brushless motor and they have lasted a very very long time compared to rubber tires. They are also cheaper. If you shop around they can be had at 10 dollars a pair.

Best of Luck,

I didn't realize foam tires could last longer then rubber tires. Is that true? Sould I use foam? Do they get more or less traction?

yeah I had that problem with my TA05, had a GTB/4.5R combo in there and it wore down the tires in like 4 packs (not all the way through, but close to it). I am wondering what tires to get for my TRF415. I was thinking of getting these: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCZD2&P=M They're pretty cheap, but if they wear down as fast again then they're not worth it. Would foam tires work well for running it on the street or in parking lots? Thanks!

Those NTC3 tires will not last... if it is the same compound as this:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJDS3&P=M

They lasted like 3 runs w/ my TC4... Down to the foam... LOL!

LB is right those NTC3 tires are absolute garbage. I had to buy new tires after like 3 fuel tanks on my NTC3 when I bought it a long time ago.

aha wonderful! I looked at tower and saw these: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCMD3&P=7
pretty good price! Will they stick out too much on a 190mm body? Also do you guys think that these would last longer than other tires of this price? Thanks for the help!

Yes, those NTC3 tires are the ones I have. Maybe that's the problem. I'll try those HPI X patterns 'cause I like the look of rubber tires better. If they don't last better, I'll try foam. Thanks.

If you buy hard Jaco NitroShoes then they will last a long time. Just don't use them on a carpet track, as the rubber in compound will cause them to ave to much traction and they will fall apart.

I parking lot bash/race with a couple friends that have 4tecs. They would seriously eat through some tires FAST sometimes after 2 tanks.....lol sometimes the tire would just shred off the rim at 50mph and fly like 20 ft in the air.

The best wearing tires for them so far have been Jaco 45 shore for foams and HPI T rally D compound for rubber.

When I purchased my touring car to race with them I took their advice and went with the HPI T rally's and are happy with how they are wearing but I know I am sacrifising peformance. Attached is a pic of my car after 2 charges. You can see they still look new.

I am still using the tires now with about a total of 6 charges thru them but they are now showing their age. I beat the crap out of the car though....donuts,drifting,hole shots, sliding stops etc.

Next tires I will try will be HPI X-pattern D compound
